Today I am sharing another card I created using this month's Stamp of the Month "Sunshine Birdies" that's the EXCLUSIVE stamp during March 2016! 

Take a look at this fun card!! J

I used the paper collection from CTMH's Penelope paper pack to create this card.  This paper is so "springy" & "happy"...it seemed to be the perfect fit! 

The banner was cut from the Artistry cartridge, and I used the designer paper to cut out the frame of the banner while using the dotted b&T paper for the inside of the banner.  I was excited to use 5 different pieces of B&T paper from the Penelope paper pack!!  

The butterflies were stamped with Memento ink, and then I used our Watercolor pencils & blending pen to color in the butterflies!  What FUN to pull out these tools again! 

To finish up this card....I used my scallop border punch to create a border using the white glitter paper (from the gold glitter pack) ...and did you see at the bottom of the card, I used the everyday life washi tape too. 

I had to use our beautiful, purple enamel hearts, so they ended up on the bottom right of the card to continue to sparkle throughout the card.  Check out the variety of enamel shapes we carry at CTMH by clicking here.

Sunshine Birdies - March SOTM Blog Hop

As I look at this stamp set, I know SPRING will be on it's way shortly - here in the eastern USA. Are these guys ADORABLE or what?  What a cute stamp set!! J 

Spring, in my mind, equals bright colors...and this led me to use our Penelope paper collection to create this month's card.  

Take a look... 

The pattern for this card is found in CTMH's How-to book, Make it From Your Heart, volume 2.J 

I decided since this stamp set made me "happy"....why not pull out the word happy from the stamped images included in this stamp set. J 

How did I ONLY ink up the word "happy"?
Prior to inking the "You make me happy" image, I stuck a post-it note on the word me (right above happy).  Then I inked up the stamp (trying to just get the word happy in ink)....took OFF the post it note, and ta-da....only the word "happy" had black ink on it!! (because the rest of the ink went on my post-it note) I LOVE my post-it notes J 

To color in the sun, I used our ShinHan alcohol marker. I wanted my sunshine to be bright & happy. 

But then for the butterfly, I wanted a softer look - so I used our Watercolor Pencils & the Blending Pen.  Ooooo, it had been a while since I used the blending pen, and it was so EXCITING to watch the blending pen "smooth out the pencil lines" as I colored over it.  

I also used one of my FAVORITE techniques on this card - dry embossing!!  I ADORE the TEXTURE this brings to any piece of artwork!  By using CTMH's, larger than most, 5x7 embossing folders & my Cuttlebug machine...I was able to get a perfect imprint every time!! 

Take a look at the picture below for some of the detail....

I used our dots 5x7 Embossing folder, and embossed dots directly on top of an already PRE-PATTERNED paper!!!  Then to make the dots stand out a bit more, I sanded them lightly.  An added "twist" to embossing!! I did the same technique on the right side of the card....but instead of dots, I used the vine embossing folder. 

As you take a look at this card again, you will also notice the PURPLE glitter paper that I used across the bottom.  

The strip of flowers across the glitter paper is actually a ZIP STRIP that is cut in half, that came from the Penelope paper pack!!!  What a treat, to have those extra zip strips as part of EACH of our paper packs at Close To My Heart!!

Today, I will be using one of our NEW paper packs that are shown in this Seasonal Expression 1 mini-book.  J.

I'd like to introduce to you one of three NEW paper packs - Penelope!! 

What a bright, cheerful, paper pack - just in time for the upcoming SPRING season (although there are blizzard warnings in PA at the moment J )

 This past weekend, I was privileged to be able to attend the CTMH Team Builders event in Salt Lake City, Utah.  I was rooming with three other gals, and wanted to create a quick treat for them - just because....so I pulled out my Penelope paper collection to create this roomie gift below.J 

During the Christmas season, I had seen this same idea, created by Liz Ann Designs, and saved it in my "to do" file to create at a later date.  

The later date arrived, and I created this post-it note holder using the Art Philosophy & Artiste Cricut cartridge.  

I used the design from the "Family" key for the base of this holder. See it under the "card" feature key?   It was cut at 3 1/4". 

The stamp set I used, was debuted in August 2015  and is a GREAT one to have!!  It's called "So Many Smiles" and it's only $13.95!! 

Take a peek at this close up photo of these fun flowers... 

And this ADORABLE bow....did you know that this is a cut directly from the Artiste Cricut collection? 

This bow is found on the "G" key...take note - there are two different bows on this page! I used the purple bow...

All I had to do was fold the bow on the score lines and the bow was created!!!  AND - by using our glossy sided cardstock (from our Paper Fundamentals collection) it gave this bow an extra "pop" of design!!

The inside of this post-it note folder, is just plain & ready to use as a note pad....a FUN little gift for anyone you can think of!!
