Christmas Cardmaking Day - 2015

What a LOVELY day we had, as we had our ANNUAL Christmas Cardmaking Day in Lancaster Co this past Saturday!

My team & I make this a “Customer Appreciation” day, and enjoy treating our customers (really, friends ) extra special this day!!

Everyone received a goodie bag when they arrived….and then headed over to this table to create a TAG for their bag.  These stamped images came from the October Stamp of the Month stamp set – Twinkle. 

Next, they took the rest of their Artistry Cricut cut pieces (see photo below) and stamped some of the images, pieced the other Cricut pieces together to create some GREAT embellishments to use in future crafting! 

Check out the ADORABLE 3x3 card they made with our NEW diffusers that go along with our Embossing folders!!!! 

These NEW GOODIES arrived the week of card day, so I quickly figured out a way to incorporate them into the Christmas Cardmaking Day’s creations. I’m so glad I did – diffusers were new to MANY of our attendees that day!!

There was plenty to see & ooh & ahh over, as they roamed around the room.  We even had some Christmas music playing (until our CD player quit working )

Of course, there was some scrumptious breakfast goodies, drinks,  and candy for anyone to snack on too!!

Then it was time to create!!!  We divided up into 5 different groups, and stayed as a group the entire day. 

There were 6 different stations in the morning, and 6 in the afternoon….meaning there was an “extra” table to head to when you had a few extra moments.  

I’ll show you a QUICK peek of the projects we created in the morning…

We had our “traditional” lunch of homemade taco soup with all the fixings…and of course LOTS of other goodies too   The Pumpkin Torte made by Sheri, is ALWAYS a HUGE hit too!!!

Then we went back to our CRAFTING and enjoyed the rest of our afternoon creating this set of goodies!! 

Each “class” throughout the day lasted 25 minutes, and we were finished our day by 3:15pm.  We appreciate EACH person that joined us for this day and know that it is something everyone looks forward to each year!!

The past two Christmas card days (we’ve had 7 of them!) we also have a table set up in honor of Operation Smile. We as consultants, donate handmade cards and ask the attendees to feel free to donate what they can and 100% of the proceeds go directly to the kids!!

This year we raised $74.50, just through our handmade cards!! 

We also had the current Operation Smile stamp set there, so everyone could see how ADORABLE it was!!  I know I’ve already received an order for that stamp set!  So thankful CTMH is donating $7  to O.S. for EACH of these stamp sets that are purchased!!  Wahoo!!!

Paper Garden–Sept Stamp of the Month - CTMH

This month’s EXCLUSIVE Stamp of the Month stamp set is just BEAUTIFUL!!   In case you haven’t seen it, let me show it to you now.

Did you notice the RED outline on some of these shapes? 

You know what that means, right?  That means that those shapes COORDINATE with one of our exclusive Cricut collections here at Close To My Heart.  If you have the Artiste Cricut collection, you will find these shapes on page 54.

Imagine the possibilities with this stamp set!  These beautiful images can be stamped on a sympathy card, a wedding card, a birthday card, layout, creation – etc…..there are so many options!

Today I chose to create a simple card…

(yes, the Cricut cut shapes made it even simpler!)

This card uses our NEW colors of Fern & Eggplant ink colors.  I used one of NEW paper packs for the printed paper – it’s called Nevermore. 

The Nevermore paper was created with Halloween in mind, but I always like to challenge myself to use papers in different ways   ….this doesn’t look like a halloween card, does it? 

The beautiful grey designer paper was PERFECT for this “Thank You” card!! 

The “thank you” stamp wording came from our NEW stamp set – “A Thousand Thanks”….yes there is a LOT of “NEW” in this card creation!  

One of my favorite stamped images in our September SOTM stamp set, is the wire fence background stamp…I think it adds so much extra texture to whatever you are stamping on.  

The pink shimmer trim was the only embellishment I decided to use on this card….although now as I look at it, I believe I should have added grey enamels too.

One of my FAVORITE paper packs in the NEW Annual Inspirations Idea Book is the Urban collection.   J

 

I was recently apart of a swap ( I make multiples of 5 different creations & get others in return) and I chose to use the Urban paper. 

I thought I would share one of the cards I created today. (and I’ll share the rest of these items in the upcoming weeks here on my blog.  J )

Since football season is just beginning, I wanted to try my hand at using this NEW “Play Hard- football” stamp set. 

So, I went to our handy-dandy Wishes How-to-book for some inspiration, and this card is what I came up with….let the football season begin!

 

OH FUN!!

 

Did you notice the RED outlines on the stamp set? 

These RED lines DO mean something!!!  It means these shapes coordinate with one of Close To My Heart’s 5 Cricut cartridges…in this case it’s our NEWEST cartridge – Artistry!!!

For the Star border – I welded 3 strips together, and created my own border. This image can be found on the “U” key.

The “shield” image was found on the “Patriotic” key….notice I used the new PEACOCK color cardstock for the base of this shield!!

For the football player himself, I stamped him 4 different colors, and paper pieced him together.

 

I also was thrilled when I thought to background stamp the “plays” on top of the already created Background paper!!  The background was dry embossed with our chevron embossing folder, then sanded, and sprayed with our spray pen….just a bit of added texture.
