Christmas Cardmaking Day is ALWAYS a day we look forward to – and this year was no exception!
We had a smaller amount of people this year – so we decided to try something new! Instead of going throughout your day with a “group” of ladies and rotating table to table….we decided to make it a “go at your own pace” type of day. The results were tremendous & it looks like this is now the preferred way to create Christmas Cards on this special day.
The day always begins when you register, and then pick up your goodie bag filled with some treasures. This bag is the perfect spot to hold all of your cards you create throughout the day…but it also includes some goodies inside!
We always include Cricut cuts from our NEWEST Cricut collection! For this year, this means we were featuring the Flower Market Cricut Collection. Oh – what FUN!! Inside the Designer paper bags, we had one of our NEW Christmas Overlays, a jingle bell, some sparkles and more!
Here’s a picture of the Cricut cut goodies that were inside their bags. Notice the 3x3 card – that was to be created sometime throughout the day as time allowed.
Next, after recieving the goodie bag – you would head over to the “Tag making Table” to create a tag of your choice. Jodi created the variety of tags to choose from, and used our new stamp set “Perfect Presents” in creating them! These tags also helped us distinquish between our tote bags throughout the day.
There’s always a breakfast cake, donuts & coffee to start our morning off right , and then we have a few announcements to share…and then…
LET the CREATING begin!!
I had 2 fabulous team members help out this day…Jodi Hoover & Kate Fisher. It was a wonderful day & it worked out so well!! Thanks to these wonderful ladies for all of their help…we definitely accomplished this day by working together…wahoo!
Here are the cards we created the first part of our day.
Jodi, Kate & I all helped in creating these cards! Our goal is to showcase the newest & greatest that Close To My Heart has to offer. It’s always so fun to share in the excitement of everyone as we see what FABULOUS products CTMH has brought our way!
To make our morning go smoother – we created these helpful boards to give some tips as the ladies went from table to table.
I haven’t heard tons of feedback, but I believe these were helpful. It made the steps of creating a bit easier to follow without a teacher there walking you through step by step.
We had a “harder” card in the morning…I showcased the “new to me” Twist and Pop card…the ladies LOVED it and it really was an “easy” card to make, once we break down the steps on how it’s made. I’ll be showcasing this card in a future blog post.
Of course there were door prizes, and announcements that took place throughout the entire day.
Mid day - we ate our “traditional” lunch of taco soup, with all the fixings and much more.
It’s always so nice to sit & fellowship with everyone and hear the creative chatter. Then…time to clean up, change over & get ready for the afternoon classes!
Here are the cards we created during our afternoon session. We often try and keep these a bit simpler, but still fun & beautiful.
The back left card, with the star – uses the EXCLUSIVE, only available in October – Stamp of the Month from Close To My Heart! We used our NEW Gold Overlays, and gold heat embossed the star, AND used our new “color of the year” Sea Glass. If you’d like to see a close up of this card – CLICK HERE.
We had 5 tables to create your cards at this afternoon and some of the ladies finished a bit early. We had lots of items displayed to browse and see NEW CTMH goodies, and also had a table they could go to, and stamp sentiments in the insides of their cards.
Of course – EVERYONE is excited for the Grand Prize drawing…this year it was Janet!! Wahoo!
A huge THANK YOU to each of you that joined us in our annual Christmas Cardmaking Day!! As always, we love to hear your comments & any ideas you may have to improve this event each year!
Thanks so much & blessings on this day!
