It’s the Little Things- gift bag

2014-11 Its the little thingsTime is quickly running out….November 2014 will end in just 10 more days!!

Don’t miss out on Close To My Heart’s WONDERFUL specials this month!!!
Let’s take a look at one of November’s specials.

You can receive this FABULOUS stamp set called “It’s the Little Things” at the retail price of $17.95 OR pay ONLY $5 with a $50 CTMH order!!

Its the Little Things_hostess bag_artisteI created a gift bag for one of my home party hostesses this month & thought I’d share this with you today since it uses this stamp set!!

As an extra “thank you” for my 1st time hostesses, I create them a gift bag that is similar to this one shown here.

This bag is created from Close To My Heart’s Artiste cartridge, If you need favors, 3d items, a beautiful alphabet and a Cricut cartridge that has 700 IMAGES (not sizes) ….you’ll want to CLICK HERE and check out ALL the different shapes/cuts are available on this AMAZING Cricut Cartridge by CTMH!!

What you can’t see in this picture, are all the goodies inside!! J In each hostess bag I include a 1x1 block, 1” ink pad, a few small stamps & a collection of Cricut cuts as a “thank you” for allowing me to come share CTMH with them & their friends!

So - how did I create this bag??  J
It was quite easy, actually - my Cricut did most of the work!!

I used the 3D Object (bag) on the “Noel” key of the Artiste booklet.  I set the size to cut at 5 1/4” & let the Cricut machine do it’s job!! LOL!!

I used a designer paper from the Yuletide paper pack for the bag itself,
but then pulled in colors from the Wanderful collection for the flowers that were stamped with our EXCLUSIVE November SOTM set - It’s the Little Things.

Wanderful_zip strip
Did you notice the purple strip at the bottom of the bag??? That is a zip-strip that I cut off the top of our Wanderful paper pack!!

I LOVE the EXTRAS that CTMH includes with so many of their items!!

Here is a close up of the flowers…I love the bright colors of these flowers, and when paired up with the subtle, neutral paper of the Yuletide paper…it just works together so well!

For a pop of color, I used the Gypsy purple Paper Fundamentals for the flap of the bag.
If you haven’t tried this amazing, designer cardstock…you’ll want to make sure to check it out!!

Have a wonderful evening!! J

If you have arrived from the talented Nancy Brown’s blog you are right on track.

I know it seems EARLY - but Christmas IS right around the corner!! So...today, I thought I would share a Christmas Card that was created in 10 minutes - Cricut cutting included!

I used our NEW Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge!  J
Artfully Sent_angel_embossed

I found this card on Key "Env 10" - the SENTIMENT function key - page 48.
Artfully Sent_Key env10_peaceangel
I set my dial at 7” to create a 5x7 card and cut TWO cards out of the white daisy cardstock.

I used the one card as it was…but the 2nd white daisy cardstock card, I cut off the back of the card…and cut out the angel & peace inside to create a rectangle frame.

Next, I ran the rectangle frame through my Cuttlebug machine using the “Quatrefoil” 5x7 embossing folder.  Then I glued that embossed card front directly on top on the other one...ta-da!!  An embossed "frame" for the front of this card!

Artfully Sent_angel_embossed_CU peace
Any guesses on what I used to color in the word “Peace”?

I used our GOLD metallic marker from our metallic marker pack!!

I LOVE these metallic markers - they come in a TWO Pack for ONLY $4.95!!

I have used both the silver & gold metallic markers, again & again since I’ve created this card!!  I can hardly believe I haven’t used these beautiful markers before!!

Next, I need to add some SHIMMER & SHINE to this card...so I used a piece of our GREEN Glitter paper to put behind the angel.

I wanted to cover up the backside of the glitter paper, so that means I need an inside pretty piece of paper…and started looking through the Artfully Sent booklet.

I FOUND it - exactly what I was looking for !! A scallop edged cardbase!!

Instead of cutting this Sweet Leaf cardstock at the suggested 7” size, I downsized it to 6 3/4” so that part of the white base card would show through.  Take a look at how the inside of this card turned out.

By using the inside pieces (or negative pieces that I was going to throw away) from this card below…

I was able to continue the Christmas theme inside the angel card by adding a shepherd, lamb & star.
I stamped a Christmas Bible verse.  This came from the “Mary & Babe” stamp set and completed this very EASY, but beautiful Christmas Card!! J

I am really enjoying the Sentiment Function Key of this AMAZING Cricut cartridge!!!

Key D

You can receive 2 cards from this 1 function key…one a 5x7 card and the other a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card!!

LOOK at all the options on this D key of the Artfully Sent cartridge!!! There are 8 different card options…but of course you can use these Cricut cut items on projects, pages & more!

On today’s card, I cut the card base from Pacifica cardstock.  Cutting your cards from this cartridge is so QUICK & EASY!!!

Look at the BEAUTIFUL scroll border & the wording at the bottom of the card!!
I stamped the Hearts (from the retired, hostess stamp set “Doodle Signs” ) and added some 3D foam tape to make them “pop”!

Next, I took the NEW Flaxen colored cardstock, and ran that through my Cuttlebug using CTMH’s beautiful CHEVRON 5x7 embossing folder. If you haven’t tried out our WONDERFUL Embossing folders - you’ll want to make sure you do!!  They can emboss a 4x12 piece of cardstock!!  Yes, it can be 12 inches long!!

Then, I pulled out our Chevron Border Punch (another FAVORITE new product!) & punched the border design in Glacier cardstock, and backed it with a scrap of our Brown/Tan Glitter paper.

I tied it off with our NEW Slate diagonal ribbon…I use this ribbon often because you can’t BEAT the $3.95 price for 5 yards of ribbon! J
