What a CUTE stamp set!! Check out the card I created today. 

While I think the girl in this stamp set is adorable & the main focus ;)...I thought I'd try and create something using other images in this stamp set collection.  
I started out by looking through our Make It From Your Heart, vol 3 How-To-Book, and decided to use pattern #2.  

The paper I used to create this card, comes from the BRAND NEW "Fresh Air" collection.  This outdoorsy paper collection just called my name! 

It needed some "shimmer & shine"....so I added some gold glitter gems & gold glitter paper....lovely!! 

I also choose to use some GOLD ribbon...and guess what?  

This RIBBON (along with a LOT of other ribbon) is also on SALE THIS MONTH at Close To My Heart!! Wahoo!! Who LOVES sales?!?! Make sure to check with your consultant to learn more!! 

Take notice of the top part of the card....do you see it?

I took some of the designer paper from the Fresh Air collection & used our embossing folder to indent the paper!  This leaf folder is STILL available, and can be found under the "Going Soon" section of your consultants website. :)

I also decided to emboss the apple basket image....to do this, I used my nutmeg pigment ink, stamped it on the Linen colored cardstock, & then sprinkled clear embossing powder over it.  I used my heat tool to set the powder & this made a GREAT coloring base to use the ShinHan markers. 

ShinHan markers used were...Carmine, Sap Green, Clay, Mahogany & Colorless Blender marker.

What does the June "The Long Way Home" stamp set look like? Are you ready?  

Take a look at this FUN, summer, traveling stamp set!!!J

This stamp set is so "groovy"!  I was excited to use this stamp set...and here's what I came up with. J 

I wanted to try a new technique I had seen recently...and this is how they turned out.  

The card on the right was inspired by fellow consultant, Karen Pedersen.  I actually wasn't going to show the right card, mostly because it got a little dark in color - but then I thought - why not show it?  You might want to see how that one looked too!! LOL!!

I used the CALYPSO paper pack (the featured paper pack this month at CTMH) and had fun with my NEW watercolor brush & the Honey, Lagoon & Pear ink pads!!! 

The bike in this stamp set is ADORABLE - and I just had to use it!!

So...DETAILS about the technique on my cards...

For the RIGHT card (the darker one - inspired by Karen)

• I took a piece of acetate (plastic bag from an embellishment pack I had) and the INK PADS of Honey, Lagoon & Pear.  
• I "smeared" ink directly onto the acetate.
• Next, I took CTMH's spray pen, that was filled with plain water, and spritz the ink on the bag.
• Because of the ink being on acetate - it bubbled up, and created this fun pattern.
• I took my Calypso B&T paper, & "smooshed" the paper & inks together to get the final result. 

What a FUN pattern this created!!!  I finished off the card by using our soon-to-be-retired CHEVRON punch, and backed this strip with our BLACK shimmer trim.

For the LEFT card (my design)

•  I did the same steps as above EXCEPT....instead of putting the ink pad directly to the acetate.  Instead I...
• Squeezed my ink pad together BEFORE opening it.
• Opened up ink pad, and made sure there was ink on the inside LID of the ink pad.
• Used the lid of my ink (with the bubbled ink) and my WATERCOLOR brush to get ink & "paint" the acetate with my colors.

The darker the color I wanted, the more ink (less water from brush) I used. Then, I did the same as above - I sprayed it with spray pen, and "kissed" my watercolor paper (in this case) with the acetate watercolored inks. 

To finish the card...I used our Black/Gray Glitter Paper, the Calypso B&T paper for the lagoon colored mat and the words come from a ZIP STRIP in this paper pack too!  The sequins are from the Calypso sequin assortment, and I believe that's it!  A very simple card.J

Oh Yum...Ice Cream is one of my FAVORITE treats!!  

YES….Summer is just around the corner, and  this stamp set is PERFECT for this season!!  





Here is the card I created....

To start on this card, I paged through CTMH's Make It From Your Heart how-to-book to find the card design I liked.   This came from pattern came from our volume 2 book, pattern 26

The Blossom paper collection has the perfect colors in it's collection for summertime...so it was the obvious choice for this card creation. J 

Please don't look too close at my coloring J...I'm still learning, and am looking forward to taking a alcohol marker class this coming July!  Wahoo!!! 

I do have to say, that coloring with our ShinHan alcohol markers do bring a new level of shading/coloring to the plate.  I LOVE how the colors blend together, and how you NEED to use multiple layers of ink to make the markers "work". 

So - take a peek at our ORANGE shimmer trimJ ....your right, we DON'T carry orange shimmer trim!!! J How did I get this shimmer to coordinate with my papers - ShinHan markers to the rescue!!!  Wahoo!!!  


If you know me....you know I LOVE options!!  So, I HAD to try multiple patterns of our 5x7 embossing folders a try!!
