If you have arrived from Joyce's blog you are right on track.

Today I wanted to share a card that was a make n take at my Spring 2017 "Kickoff Catalog Celebration" event! :)  We used the FUN, yummy, New paper collection named Sugar Rush. Check it out!

I created this card using the pattern #21 in the Make It From your Heart, volume 1 how-to-book.  I LOVE to create with the many patterns in this book (and the other 7 how-to-books we have too)!!  This is always my starting point when I begin to create!

I love the subtle look the Sugar Rush - washi tape gave the card.  The pack comes with 3 designs...but I used one in this card creation.

Let's check out what the Sugar Rush paper pack looks like....

When I first started thinking about creating a card, I KNEW I wanted to use the adorable stamp set that coordinated with this paper pack!  It's called...
Sugar Rush - Scrapbooking stamp set

What makes this stamp sets even MORE FUN....it coordinates with Close To My Heart's Artistry Cricut cartridge!!! Do you see the stamp set images, outlined in RED??  Those shapes can be cut with our cartridge!!

Here's a FUN close up of my card....

See the "speckled" background?  I used our spray pen...which was filled with whisper re-inker & water.

The clear "glaze" that is on top of the sprinkles is the FABULOUS Liquid Glass!!  While I use this as a glue, I often use it as a beautiful embellishment too!

Here is a list of products used on this card...
D1715 Sugar Rush - Scrapbooking stamp set
A1189 Short & Sweet stamp
Cardstock: Pomegranate, Sea Glass & Whisper
Z3247 Chevron Embossing Folder
Z3315 Dreamin’ Big Sequins
Z3286 Adventure baker’s twine
Z3311 Sugar Rush - washi
Z1380 Spray Pens
Z2272 Whisper re-inker
Z3316 Gold Shimmer Brush
Z679 Liquid Glass
Z2451 Shin-Han Markers: Clay

If you have arrived from Helen's blog you are right on track.   J

One of the best things of being a CTMH consultant, is the crafty friendships that are formed.  I am SO BLESSED to have gotten to know so many wonderful crafters, and because of this – we truly enjoy sharing artwork ideas together too!!

2015-12-5_WYW_base and bling_ornament_set of 3 on tree_DSC_0727My project today is one that I saw from other consultants.  I’m not sure who the original designer was/is, but I do know that I am SO THANKFUL they shared this amazing idea!!! THANK YOU!! J

Take a look at this picture to see ANOTHER WAY to use Close To My Heart’s Base & Bling handcrafted jewelry line!!  Check out ALL the items in this base & bling line by clicking here

These ornaments were FUN to create & the PERFECT little goodie to give to my team members that joined me at the recent CTMH consultant event in King of Prussia. CLICK HERE to learn more about this FUN consultant only event. J

As far as creating these ornaments, I used the Artiste Cricut collection that is exclusively available through Close To My Heart.

I also used circle punches (1”, 1 1/2”) but you could cut the circles on the Cricut machine too.

I would HIGHLY suggest using the Explore Air Cricut machine for this project if you have it!  If not, the regular Circuit machine will do. J

How do I know this? J I tried these cuts on both of my machines.

The reason I suggest using the Explore is because of all of the “EXTRAS” the Explore does on these cuts!!!

FIRST – the carbide blade cuts the shapes & holes PERFECTLY, no ragged edges or white core showing through!

THEN, it also SCORES all those fan folds for you!!! WAHOO!!!   I didn't realize the Explore machine did the scoring (yes, I’m still learning) until it asked for me to insert my score tool.  It saved SO MUCH TIME by doing all of my scoring for me!!

The shapes I cut are all found on the KEY G of the Artiste cartridge.
Key G - Artiste_pinwheel and bow***PLEASE KEEP IN MIND****There are 6 different pinwheel flowers to choose from on the Artiste cartridge – so make sure to check out your other options before cutting the same shape I did on this key. J

Notice the orange shape on this key….this is the pinwheel flower.  So the finished piece at the #23 arrow?  You WILL NEED to cut TWO of these shapes (one for each side) to create your complete flower.  Set your dial at 1 1/4” to recreate the same size ornament I created.
2015-12-5_WYW_base and bling_CU Joy_20151204_231708
If you choose to add the bow to the top (some ornaments had the bow, others didn't) set your dial size to 1/2" and then fold it together like your Artiste booklet shows you.

The glitter circle under the base & bling pendent was 1 1/2" and I also cut a 1 1/2" cardstock circle for the back of the ornament where I stamped the Dec 5th date with our new roller date stamp. J

CJklVvBUwAAZx_NI used our 1" circle punch to cut the circle from the Base & Bling Holiday style sheets.(retiring by Dec 31st!)  They are already adhesive backed, so I just stuck this circle inside the pendent & then used liquid glass to adhere everything together!!!

Here are the steps once you have everything cut….

1. I glued the 2 folded fan-like flower strips together.

2. I glued the cardstock circle to the back of the created pinwheel. After this was dry, I stamped the date on the back with the roller stamp.

3. I glued the glitter circle on the front side of the pinwheel.

4. I stuck the 1” circle sticker in the pendent & glued the glass cover on top of the sticker.

5. I glued the actual pendent on top of the glitter circle and left it dry for a LONG time - overnight if possible!! I made sure to apply the glue very heavy on this part!! It seemed to take more glue to have it stick well to the glitter paper.

6. To complete the ornament, I added a ribbon & ta-da....completed!!

Here is a look at my “trial run”….you have those when you create, right? I wanted to decide what was the best size to create for these base & bling pendants.  I really do like the other sizes too & may play around with those sizes later.

I used the White Pines & Zoe paper packs.  White Pines will be leaving us at the end of this month, so make sure to get all the paper & accessories you need before it’s retired & gone!!

Taste of Summer – Pucker Up 2 pg. layout

A few weeks ago I spent the weekend creating with my Spa Girls in Virginia.

The Spa Girls are my CTMH sisters that all won the first CTMH Spa Retreat back in 2010.  All 9 of us that won this trip, connected in such a way that we continue to have a lunch reunion at Convention every year.

Well, meeting that 1 time every year – didn’t seem like enough time together…enough time to continue to cultivate our friendships, brainstorm and listen to each other.  SO….last year we decided to get together for our own little retreat.  J

Jaime has graciously hosted us the past 2 years in her FABULOUS crafting studio! :)  Here we are --- 5 out of the 9---that could make it to this year’s retreat!  We are hoping to be able to have a time where ALL of us can be together once again…until then, the tradition of our annual weekend together continues!

This year at our weekend, we were able to get our Taste Of Summer papers just in time to take to our retreat!  We were able to brainstorm together and shared ideas for layouts and cards which was so much fun!

The layout that I am sharing with you today was designed by Shannon Pelletier.  Shannon used CTMH’s Make It From Your Heart Vol 2, pattern #6 as her guide to put this layout together.  When she completed the layout, then we could add stamped images, embellishments & have some fun with it! J

Here is the layout Shannon designed….she used the Taste of Summer paper pack PLUS she added some Pear Cardstock – the perfect color combo!!
Taste of Summer-pucker up_layout_shannon P_
The ink colors I used on this layout were Thistle, Pear, & Canary.

Take a peek at how much “wow” the liquid glass adds to the fruit!! I often to use Liquid Glass as a glue…but in this case, it was PERFECT to use on this beautiful fruit as an embellishment!

Using a black journaling pen to sketch some lines around the edges, seems to making an appearance again.  I believe when I started scrapbooking 20 years ago, this was a common thing that you would see.  Isn’t it interesting how styles seem to make always come back around? J

Taste of Summer with Mojo Monday

I’ve been wanting participate in a creating challenge recently, and I finally took some extra time and did it!! J  What fun …to follow a sketch & complete the design however you feel led!  Since it’s been a while since I’ve done a challenge, this time I pretty much stuck to the sketch that was provided.

When I saw this sketch, from Mojo Monday this week,  I knew I was going to use this Close To My Heart’s EXCLUSIVE  paper pack – Taste of Summer – as my starting point!

Taste of Summer_May2015_papers

The Taste of Summer paper pack can ONLY be purchased from your CTMH consultant (click here if you don’t have a consultant J) during May 2015!!

It’s ONLY  $8.95 for the 12 pack of designer papers!  The bright & bold colors in the set just make you want to create!!

So after deciding to use those papers…this is the card I created…J
Mojo Monday_popsicle_taste of summer_card
Blossom Cardmaking_wotg_stamp set

What fun I had, creating this card….it just makes me think of summertime!!  Summer will be here before we know it!

For my card, I chose to use the solid designs vs. the fruit designs of this paper. The purple, yellow & green colors were calling my name J…and those are the colors I ended up using.

I used the stamp set that comes from our Blossom Cardmaking Kit.  I love the variety of images in this set!! The popsicle, stars, flowers…and words - Oh fun!!!  (CLICK HERE to see details on this kit & my upcoming card class!)

I was inspired when I saw a card created by my friend, Jaime Llewellyn, where she used liquid glass on her popsicle!  I LOVED the effect, so I had to recreate that on this card. Can you see the shimmer & dimension the Liquid Glass adds to this card?

I hope you enjoyed this card, and maybe you would like to create one of your own!

If so, here is a list of items I used to create this fun card.
