Here is the first card I created with the July SOTM stamp set.
This is a simple card that can be made in a jiffy. J

By adding some ink distressing, some red glitz glitter gel and a button brad from the Black Mini-medley pack, you can create a cute card!

July SOTM_live out loud_butterfly spray pen card
For my 2nd card,
I saw a card created by a fellow consultant and decided to take her idea but to change it a bit, and recreate a card of my own! J  Thanks Amy McVey for the inspiration!

I decided to use the spray pen and pearl paint.  This mixture creates a beautiful sheen and shine to the background of this card!

If you haven’t tried this technique, make sure you add a pack of Spray Pens, Pearl paint and a re-inker of your choice to your next order!

The results are easy and BEAUTIFUL!!!

How to use the spray pen

  1. Take the spray pen and add water to the 8th line
  2. Next, add your re-inker color of your choice – filling it another 1 1/2 lines.
  3. Then add 3 pea-size drops of pearl paint into the mixture.
  4. Put the lid on your spray pen, shake it well, and practice spraying into an old cardboard box!!!

I have played with my pen and have found that there are  ways to make my pen spray different spray patterns….

  • Spray your pen by doing short quick pumps, not letting the pump come all the way back up to the top – you will get the larger drops on your card base.
  • Spray the pen “normally” and it will create a fine mist
  • Spray your pen close to your paper, and it will get a direct spray, a more solid sprayed image on your paper.
  • Hold the pen farther away to create a more mist like effect on your project!!!
This pack of 3 spray pens are so inexpensive (just $3.95 for 3 pens!), and FUN to create with!!!

As I am creating my pieces of artwork for teaching at Extravaganza, I have been using my spray pen quite often! J

After August 1st, I will share with you many pieces of artwork that I have created with the spray pen!! J

Happy Crafting!!!

SUPER, Superhero Scrapbook Pages!

A bunch of gals on my Close To My Heart team got together and did a swap!  For those that are not familiar with a swap…this is how it works…

Our SWAP included…creating (8) 2 page layouts, that were all the same designs.  There were a total of eight people in this swap – we each created (8) 2 page layouts.  We each had to use a new, but different paper pack and had to use a new embellishment.  On the due date of the swap, we got together and exchanged items!  I received SEVEN new 2 page layouts (plus one of my own), each one used one of the NEWEST paper packs from Close To My Heart!!!

Today I will be showing you two layouts created by my friends and downline Brenda Rutt and Gennette Feagan

These gals have been friends since college days and work together like two peas in a pod.

When they mentioned they wanted to create coordinating scrapbook pages with this swap, I knew we were in for a treat!!!J

Superhero level 2 paper X7152B

Check out their ingenious creation!!!  Here we go!!!

They used the FUN, exciting paper pack called SUPERHERO.  They also used MANY embellishments to add sparkle and FUN to these layouts!

Here is the layout Gennette created…

(***take note of the circle on the right side of the layout…you will need to know about this later in this post! J)

Magic Adventures D1509

The stamp set Gennette used is called “Magic Adventures” shown on page 78 of the Spring/Summer Idea Book.

Isn’t it adorable?

Gennette LOVES detail J, so check out all the “little” things she added to this layout to make it shine…

Superhero Gennette adhesive spring close up

She used the new adhesive springs  to make the rollercoaster “pop”.
She also used the metal Number Plates on the front of the coaster.
Take notice how she stamped the title with part of the stamp set!! Sorry I didn’t capture more of the title here…but go ahead and scroll back up to the picture of the ENTIRE layout to check out the detail!

Next, check out the SPARKLE fun she added to the 2nd pg..
Superhero Gennette close up glitter
Gennette used
a button from the Bohemian Asst for on top of the horse pole, bitty sparkles to the tails of the stars and an assortment of our Glitz Glitter Gels to add sparkle everywhere else.

Did you see the Persnickety Journaling Spot that she chose to ink in blue on the right side of the page?  Great space for journaling!!

Now, we come to Brenda’s Layout!!! I’m so excited!!! You will now realize why they wanted to create it together! J
Superhero amusement pages by Brenda Rutt
Do you see it?  Look at the left page…the roller coaster popping through is from GENNETTE’s layout!! Ingenious?  I think so!!

Now you may want to go back up and look at Gennette’s two page layout…check out the right side of her layout…see the circle on the bottom right???  That circle will show a picture PERFECTLY directly through to Brenda’s layout– so you will see this picture that is put on the circle on both sets of pages!!

Superhero Brenda close up reinker

Well, onto Brenda’s details!!!  She did some CREATIVE thinking as she inked up the Milepost Shapes star by using black re-inker to get a dark, intense color!  You receive a wide variety of 48 shapes in this pack…

Super Powers C1485

Brenda also used the famous Baker’s Twine – the grey wool color.  She used the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge to cut the “FUN” and the star shapes.  The stamp set she used is “Super Powers” – perfect for any Superhero in your home. J

Superhero - Brenda close up rub-onsI LOVE how she used the Superhero Rub-ons for added design throughout her pages.  Look how she used only part of the rub-on at this letter to make it look like it was behind it…so smart! J

Superhero RubonsX7152C

There are so MANY rub on’s in this set…I had to share the actual photo of them!!

Now YOU can be off to create some SUPER Pages of your own!
