When I start to create - I ALWAYS go to one of CTMH’s FABULOUS how to books!!

In this case I pulled out the Make It From Your Heart, vol 1 and decided to use card pattern 26.

After deciding what kind of card design to create, I knew  I wanted to make a rustic card…so out came our current paper pack called, Timberline. 

Here is the card I created… 

I choose to stamp the background with our wire background stamp - from Distressed Backgrounds- to pull the rustic feel through the entire card.

 

I tend to use the NEW embossing folders from CTMH in a lot of my creations…but I just LOVE the effect they can bring to any creations!

You can emboss almost ANYTHING to create a new pattern!  In this case I even embossed the rustic, barn board background paper with dots, and then pulled some Whisper ink over top of the dots to make them “pop”

By adding some hemp Baker’s twine & triangle durables as accents, it pulls the entire card together. J

May SOTM Blog Hop!!!

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!

We will be featuring May’s Stamp of the Month (SOTM), which is called “Pinwheel”, a set of 10 stamps.

I LOVE this set!!!  Especially how it coordinates with our Artiste Cricut Cartridge !!!  QUICK and Easy to create any item!

 I created my card by using Close To My Heart’s FABULOUS How-to book called Make It From Your Heart!  This card uses pattern # 22.

I decided to add the “For a Friend” stamp set to this card.  I LOVE how this stamp set is Cricut compatible and the shape can be cut in a jiffy!  Take a peek HERE at the variety of sayings included in this stamp set!

Did you notice the BACKGROUND of this card?? J

Yup - I used the pinwheel “stick” and created my OWN background design!!! If you look closely, you can see that I also stamped 2nd generation Sunset colors STARS in the background too!

How did I stamp ONLY the stars from this May Stamp set???

I cut the stars off of the bottom of my “Let’s Celebrate”stamp!  This made it MUCH EASIER for me to stamp the stars separately!

To finish off the card….  

I added a bit of stardust glitz glitter gel and our NEW epoxy bubbles to the pinwheel….of course adding 3D foam tape gives this card dimension! 

I also cut our Outdoor Denim Chevron Ribbon in half, and tied a knot in one end!!! FUN!!!!  By adding some of our coordinating Baker's Twine to the chevron ribbon, it ties the colors all together!

Here is a CARD I created using the retiring A size stamp set…
Our middle son has found out in the past 1 1/2 year that God has blessed him with a musical talent!!!  He has started playing guitar, and is a “natural”! What a gift!!!!  So – the A Melody stamp set was the PERFECT stamp to use to create this card for him!!!

I created this card for his birthday(I won’t tell you what month- LOL!) and I realized I never posted it on my blog!!!!

I had fun using glitz glitter gel, the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge and Baker’s twine- neutral to complete this card!!

Make sure to DOUBLE CHECK your list twice…the items shown on the Retiring List will be GONE on Feb 1st to make way for the NEW product!!!

Hawaii Swaps using Footloose!!!

I wanted to share 2 MORE scrapbook layouts using the Footloose paper pack that I received from my Hawaii swap!!!

This paper pack is AMAZING and is a perfect choice to use on any summer pictures – not just pictures from the beach! J

This adorable layout was created by fellow consultant Casey Spinks.  She created her OWN background paper using the ADORABLE stamp set that we received for earning this trip to Hawaii! 

I love the use of the Baker’s Twin and her fun shaped images for the title!!

Next we have a layout created by Helen Onulak. 

What a BEAUTIFUL creation!!!  (remember, you can click on the picture to see more detail!)

Helen used the seashell wooden shapes, which I have come to LOVE so much J…but she added a bit of color to them! 

Helen inked the starfish with a foam tool, and with Brown Bag ink.  Then she painted the Create-A-Shade pearl ink over top of the colored starfish!!!

BEAUTIFUL!!!

Footloose Hawaiian 2 page layouts :)

I would like to share a layout I created for our Hawaiian swap! 

After we arrived home from my CTMH Hawaii cruise in March, I created a two page layout using the Footloose Paper Pack…

an Exclusive Hawaiian Stamp set…

and any embellishments that coordinated with this paper kit.

WHAT FUN!!!!

I used the Magic how-to-book pattern “Enchantment” for my layout design and then filled in the layout with our coordinating papers!

After creating my 2 page layout – I created 8 more 2 page layouts of the exact same thing! J

I sent all the layouts to one particular consultant  (thanks Sara!J )and she grouped me with 8 other Hawaiian Cruisers and sorted out the 2 page layouts and mailed me back 9 DIFFERENT 2 page layouts !! 

What a GREAT way to get ideas, techniques and scrapbook pages completed for my Hawaii Cruise 2012 Album! J

Here is the layout I created…

The flowers were cut with the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.  I used Smoothie cardstock and White Daisy.

The center of my flowers, are a paper flower from the Paradise Paper Flower collection.  I inked the edges of these paper flowers in Smoothie ink.  I am finding myself using these flowers for SOOO many  things!!!

Notice the leaves for my flowers…they are actually a stamp that is supposed to be a clam image!!!  I stamped those “leaves” in sweet leaf ink, tucked them behind the flowers and you never know they are clams!

I used a “zip strip”- the 1/2” strip at the top of all of our paper packs (LOVE that little extra J) and finished it off with Durables, Baker’s Twine and Wooden Shapes. 

Did you notice my base pages?  See the two toned color???  This is called the suede method and it’s very QUICK and EASY to do!!!

Take your open ink pad, turn upside down like you are going to “stamp” the ink pad on the 12x12 piece of cardstock.  Instead, start making your ink pad go in circles, and eventually touch down on your 12x12 paper – still swirling or making your ink pad go in circles!  This will create a swirl/suede design on your base pages!!!  I used Bamboo ink on Bamboo cardstock and it really shows a nice contrast. 

I added a frame to my title, by dry embossing around the outside.  I then took my Bamboo ink pad and “distressed” the raised lines with ink. 

Something else I hadn’t done in awhile – I created a shadow on my title.  I used Lagoon ink for the “Aloha” , stamped it and after stamping, just moved the stamp over 1/8th (without re-inking) and stamped again to give it the shadow effect!!
