Hawaii Swaps using Footloose!!!

I wanted to share 2 MORE scrapbook layouts using the Footloose paper pack that I received from my Hawaii swap!!!

This paper pack is AMAZING and is a perfect choice to use on any summer pictures – not just pictures from the beach! J

This adorable layout was created by fellow consultant Casey Spinks.  She created her OWN background paper using the ADORABLE stamp set that we received for earning this trip to Hawaii! 

I love the use of the Baker’s Twin and her fun shaped images for the title!!

Next we have a layout created by Helen Onulak. 

What a BEAUTIFUL creation!!!  (remember, you can click on the picture to see more detail!)

Helen used the seashell wooden shapes, which I have come to LOVE so much J…but she added a bit of color to them! 

Helen inked the starfish with a foam tool, and with Brown Bag ink.  Then she painted the Create-A-Shade pearl ink over top of the colored starfish!!!

BEAUTIFUL!!!

Footloose Hawaiian 2 page layouts :)

I would like to share a layout I created for our Hawaiian swap! 

After we arrived home from my CTMH Hawaii cruise in March, I created a two page layout using the Footloose Paper Pack…

an Exclusive Hawaiian Stamp set…

and any embellishments that coordinated with this paper kit.

WHAT FUN!!!!

I used the Magic how-to-book pattern “Enchantment” for my layout design and then filled in the layout with our coordinating papers!

After creating my 2 page layout – I created 8 more 2 page layouts of the exact same thing! J

I sent all the layouts to one particular consultant  (thanks Sara!J )and she grouped me with 8 other Hawaiian Cruisers and sorted out the 2 page layouts and mailed me back 9 DIFFERENT 2 page layouts !! 

What a GREAT way to get ideas, techniques and scrapbook pages completed for my Hawaii Cruise 2012 Album! J

Here is the layout I created…

The flowers were cut with the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.  I used Smoothie cardstock and White Daisy.

The center of my flowers, are a paper flower from the Paradise Paper Flower collection.  I inked the edges of these paper flowers in Smoothie ink.  I am finding myself using these flowers for SOOO many  things!!!

Notice the leaves for my flowers…they are actually a stamp that is supposed to be a clam image!!!  I stamped those “leaves” in sweet leaf ink, tucked them behind the flowers and you never know they are clams!

I used a “zip strip”- the 1/2” strip at the top of all of our paper packs (LOVE that little extra J) and finished it off with Durables, Baker’s Twine and Wooden Shapes. 

Did you notice my base pages?  See the two toned color???  This is called the suede method and it’s very QUICK and EASY to do!!!

Take your open ink pad, turn upside down like you are going to “stamp” the ink pad on the 12x12 piece of cardstock.  Instead, start making your ink pad go in circles, and eventually touch down on your 12x12 paper – still swirling or making your ink pad go in circles!  This will create a swirl/suede design on your base pages!!!  I used Bamboo ink on Bamboo cardstock and it really shows a nice contrast. 

I added a frame to my title, by dry embossing around the outside.  I then took my Bamboo ink pad and “distressed” the raised lines with ink. 

Something else I hadn’t done in awhile – I created a shadow on my title.  I used Lagoon ink for the “Aloha” , stamped it and after stamping, just moved the stamp over 1/8th (without re-inking) and stamped again to give it the shadow effect!!

Footloose & Seaside Wooden Shapes

I was privileged to be a part of the Karen Morris swap! J  I LOVE being a part of this amazing swap and receive so MANY beautiful pieces of artwork!!! 

This time, I chose to use the NEW Footloose Paper pack.  Summer is right around the corner (am I rushing things?) and this paper pack makes me so happy! 

The colors in this kit are…Bamboo, Crème Brulee, Lagoon, New England Ivy, Pear, Smoothie, Sweet Leaf and White Daisy ~ PERFECT summer colors!!!










Here are my swaps – ready to be mailed…

I created 8 sets of everything.  I kept one set for myself, and mailed off the other 7 to Karen. 

Here are the pieces I created.   

One of the requirements for this swap was to use as many BRAND NEW items that we could!!!  I used new Stamp Sets, Embellishments, Card shapes, Workshop Kits and MORE!!


Today we will look at the details for the 12x12 page.

I was soooo EXCITED as I “found” these Hawaiian flowers!!!  Ok, so they were on my Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge all along…but I personally hadn’t “found” them yet! LOL!!!

To give these flowers some dimension and style, I stamped an image from our new Diverse Backgrounds stamp set in Smoothie ink on top of the Smoothie flower.  I then sponged all the edges in Smoothie and used one of our NEW Paradise Paper Flowers for the 3rd flower.  For the center of the flower I used the Round Durables!  LOVE these new Embellishments!!!

To finish off this section, I used our NEW Seaside Wooden Shapes and cut part of the Zip Strip (the 1/2” extra strip at the top of our 12x12 designer papers) of “Tropical Get a Way”. 

A tip for you…we have 3 new kinds of laser wooden shape designs!  They are so lightweight and add an extra flair to any of your creations!  They are stampable, and inkable…but in this case, I chose to leave the piece just as it was packaged. J Check out page 39 of the new Idea Book to see another way you can use these shapes.

I chose to create a card using the NEW Footloose Paper Pack! 

The Footloose papers have a beach theme and will be PERFECT for these summer days!  However, I LOVE the colors in this kit and knew I could use them in a NON-beach way as well! 

I APPRECIATE the versatility that come with ALL of Close To My Heart’s products!!  Close To My Heart’s products COORDINATE  with each other– and because of this it is so SIMPLE and EASY to create!!!

Here is a card I created using NEW PRODUCTS!!!! 

I used Jeanette Lynton’s WONDERFUL how-to book Originals to get me started in my creating! I used the pattern “Always Right” on page 89.  If you notice in the Originals book, this card design is for a 5x7 size card, but I chose to make it work for a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 size card.

 

I HIGHLY recommend this WONDERFUL how to book!!!  Close To My Heart has many how-to books for scrapbooking AND card making.  CLICK HERE to see them all!  Using these books are a HUGE time saver and are soooo helpful in the creating process!!! Who doesn’t like to save time?!?! J

When I saw the “Play Day” stamp set…I knew it would be a PERFECT stamp set for the many birthday and baby cards I needed to create! I was excited when I thought of the “happy” colors in the Footloose paper kit and knew I could pair these two items together! 

I sanded the edges of the NE Ivy cardstock to give some texture.  If you notice the Bamboo cardstock on the top of the card…I gave this cardstock a suede look.  It’s VERY easy to do…take your open ink pad and quickly pull the entire ink pad across the bamboo cardstock! You'll get a different patterned/swirl design EVERY time! 



A NEW PRODUCT that I know I will use a LOT …Close To My Heart’s color-ready seam binding ribbon!!!



This ribbon comes in white and that makes me SO EXCITED!!!  Remember anything that is white you can color coordinate for ANY of your creations!!!

I took a sponge, and sponged smoothie ink onto the ribbon. It didn’t take long to dry (LOVE this!), and then I used liquid glass under the stamped image of the girl jumping rope to adhere the ribbon to the card.  I wrapped the ends of the ribbon around the back of the green dotted paper and liquid glassed it to the bamboo cardstock.



I was also DETERMINED to include the NEW Paradise Just Bloom flowers in my design!  I love the ease that our Just Blooms products bring to any thing I create!!!  Here is what the flower pack looks like – remember I took this picture AFTER I used all the small flowers on this card ( I created 10 of these cards! J)









Here is a close up picture of the flowers on the card. 

I used our NEW bitty pearl opaques for the centers of these flowers! LOVE how they turned out! J

For the base of this card, I used our white daisy die-cut card design.  These cards come in a pack of 10 – INCLUDING envelopes- for only $5.95!  Their bracket shape design on the bottom of the card allows you to add some FUN to this card. 

Here is a look at the inside of the card…I will stamp an image inside the card, but I love how the extra cardstock adds so much to the inside of the card by itself!

I hope you enjoyed the DETAILS of the creation of this card!  I love learning new ideas, tips and techniques as often as I can!!!

I thought I’d share this card with you…I needed to create a BABY card for a couple in our church who had twins!  J  So exciting!!  Their story is quite a testimony…and their two children (a boy & a girl) are so adorable!
