Retiring Soon...Post #1 - A few of my Favorite Things - Jolly Holiday & City Sidewalks -

I thought I'd share a few posts of "My Favorite Things" that will be retiring at the end of this month OR While Supplies Last.

As you may have heard, Close To My Heart's Holiday Expression "mini" book, will be ending on December 31, 2016. At CTMH, we have a NEW mini book that arrives every 4 months....so that means our NEW Seasonal Expression 1 "mini" book will be arriving on Jan 1, 2017.

Of course, we have mixed emotions ;)....we are sad to see these goodies leave us, but are VERY EXCITED to see the amazing product CTMH has created for the next 4 months too....SO while it's bittersweet - I DID want to share some of my favorites that will be missed!

You will also want to check your wish list, and make sure you have what you need from the Holiday Expression mini book prior to leaving.

TODAY - let's take a look at this card, created by one of my team members, Jodi Hoover.

This card was one we created at out Christmas Cardmaking Day we held back at the end of September. What a simple but beautiful card to create!! The bright colors in this card just make me smile! :)

The City Sidewalks paper pack has been a FAVORITE to many of you - and yes, the City Sidewalks will be retiring on Dec 31st ;( (or while supplies last...WSL)

Take note of the 2 sheet of cut-apart PML cards in this pack.

I LOVE this extra, added feature that CTMH includes in our designer paper packs. These 4x6 and 4x3 cards can be used in a variety of projects!! Use them on your Scrapbook page, a card front, or even punch a hole and use as a gift tag! :) So FUN!!!

Thoughtful Flowers - Dec SOTM Blog Hop

Welcome to our monthly Stamp of the Month (SOTM) Blog Hop!!!

What a beautiful stamp set to create with. The lovely flowers AND I adore the sentiments too! I like the design of script that they chose for these words.

When I created my project for today, I thought "wedding"...and this is the card I designed. :)

I used the card pattern design from CTMH's Make It From Your Heart book - pattern #27 in the volume 1 version.

This is a favorite - "go to" book, and I love that I can always get my basic card design created in a short amount of time.

Here's a close up of the flowers....

I stamped my flower with Memento ink on our watercolor paper. Next, I squeezed the lid and bottom of my Sea Glass ink pad together - then, opened it up. I now have beads of ink on the lid of my ink pad...perfect! I pulled out my blending pen....and "inked it up" from the lid of my ink pad, and started to color in my flower!

After the flower was dry, I went over a few of the petals with our clear shimmer pen and added sparkles to the center of the flowers. I also used my Silver Metallic pen, and outlines the White Daisy Cardstock center mat.

I used two paper packs...the Uptown Fundamentals...

...and the All About The Gold acetate sheets.

Did you notice, my acetate is NOT gold- hee, hee. When you turn it over on the other side, you have the same design in SILVER!! Give it a try!

The strip of "ribbon" is actually silver foil tape...however, in the photo it's showing up black...wouldn't this be pretty with black shimmer trim ? :)

What inspired me to create the card I created today?? A friend had asked if I would create cards so that she could give them to her friends to ask them to be in her wedding party next year. Wow...what a task to accomplish, but I was excited as I thought of the possibilities to create something with the Flower Market Cricut Collection!

She gave me her wedding colors of mint, plum & peach, which lined up with CTMH's colors of Sea Glass, Eggplant, and Sorbet.

Here is the card I created for today :)

Can you believe it - I didn't do ANY Stamping on this card!!!

I used our Color of the Year" here at Close To MY Heart - Sea Glass cardstock...it sure is a favorite color of mine this year!

I used two Flower Market Cricut Keys on this project...Key "Ranunculus" (pg. 41 in handbook) AND the lace for the jar was found on "Key Q" (pg. 11).

The other paper packs I chose to use were the Rustic Home and the Uptown Fundamentals paper packs. These papers are SO VERSATILE and can be used in almost any creation! :) Since I was going for a "rustic" look - these paper packs were perfect to use!

The only embelishement I chose to use was the Rustic Home Ribbon pack to stay with the rustic theme. Just plain & simple. :)

The intricate cuts of the Flower Market Cricut Collection AMAZE me!!! There were3 different layers to the full circle rose...but each piece, added so much more dimension to the rose!

Happy Thanksgiving! :)

This is the time of year to remember the many things I am thankful for. J That list could be huge, but God has shown me through His Word again & again, that it's a choice I make. That I can CHOOSE to be thankful for only good things...however Scripture tells us in I Thessalonians 5:18 to be thankful in ALL things. (I'm pretty sure that means good or bad things. ;) )

Wow - that's hard - but oh so true! It's during those "hard" times that I tend to experience growth, and I get to choose whether to draw closer to Him to carry me through, or to wallow in my own misery without Him. May I continue to be open to learning to be MORE like Jesus!

Also, as I think about the MANY good things God has blessed me with...all of YOU come to mind!! J

I want to take a moment to THANK YOU for your friendship....for following this blog, for your comments, for ordering workshops, for sharing a little bit of you with me! I have gained so much as I've become a part of the crafting world, and that is the FRIENDSHIPS that have formed!!
