Artbooking in August Blog Hop- week 2

Welcome to week #2 of the
Artbooking in August Blog Hop!

blog badge 2 copy
Last Monday was the 1st week of our Artbooking creations…and it’s time for our SECOND round of Artbooking Projects!!!  We will continue to post projects EACH MONDAY in August- make sure to join us each Monday! J

If you have come from Mary Gunn’s Blog…you are on the right track!

Our challenge this month was to create 4 different projects using the Cricut Artbooking cartridge and any CTMH paper pack.  We will be creating one of each of the following…
1. 2 page layout
2. Card
3. Mini Book
4. Home décor or “giftable” item

We were able to choose which of these 4 items to create and choose which Monday to post it.  This is a circular hop, so if you get lost along the way CLICK HERE to see the complete list posted on Adeline’s (our fearless coordinators) blog.

This week I wanted to share with you a 2 page layout.

How QUICK & EASY our Artbooking Cricut cartridge allows us to create a layout!
I used the “snow” and “walking in the winter” keys to create this layout.  This cartridge is FABULOUS!!

I set my cricut size at the 11” linked size and cut away! J Take a look at the snow banner…I LOVE the multiple wordings that are on this cartridge!  How EASY is that? J

One of my ultimate FAVORITE stamp sets…is the Universal Background.  I cut the snowflake overlay twice…one time with Champagne cardstock and one with Whisper.    By adding 3D foam tape to some of the snowflakes, it gives this layout some added dimension.

How do you like this CUTE snowman???   What FUN!!!  You can see the snowman image on this cricut page.key walking in the winter-artbooking
I cut the snowman in Champagne cardstock, and cut the hat in Ruby.  I wanted him to have a 3d type scarf…so I pulled out some of the new Sparkle and Shine textiles to add a flowing scarf. J

Love Card–Rock the Block

I had fun creating a CARD using the Rock the Block stamp set that I wanted to share with you!!! J

Here is the card…a 5x7 size and I used a pattern out of our ORIGINALS How-To-Book .  The pattern name is “Colors & Cubes and can be found on page 63.
Rock the Block - love card
When I first saw the Rock the Block promotion – “CARDS” popped into my mind as I looked at the ADORABLE, Exclusive stamp set that comes with this promotion!!

Rock the Block stamp set imageI knew I wanted to stamp “love” in one line, rather than in the block square.  I just inked up the “LO” first…stamped.  Then inked up “VE” and stamped along side of the “LO”.  I LOVE our clear, see through, acrylic stamps!!!

I LOVE the background images in this stamp set too!!  I used the screen print on the cardstock squares at the bottom of the card.  Of course the flowers, leaves and the HUGE flourish are all VERY useful too! I stamped a bunch of the flowers, cut them out and then had a FUN time deciding what colors I liked best to create the completed flowers.

The products I used in creating this card…
I used Kraft Cardstock (this is becoming a FAVORITE!) for my card base.  Then I used the colors, Crème Brulee, Sunset, Olive, Desert Sand & Lagoon.

Yes, I did hand-cut the flourishes…I LOVE our cutting knife and Versa Mat to accomplish this task!!!  This is fun to do every once in a while.

For embellishments I used our Antique Copper Designer Brads and the metal assortment of brads.  I also used the Olive Mini-Medley ribbon.  I LOVE these Mini-Medleys!! They are only $4.95 AND they include such a nice variety of embellishments!!!  CLICK HERE to see the wonderful selection of Mini-Medleys that Close To My Heart carries!!!

Here is a close-up so you can see a bit more of the details on this card…
