Here is the card I created with this set…2013-7 July SOTM_Sweet Life_DSC_2218
 I’m not sure if I like this card yet, (it’s growing on me) J
however, with CTMH’s Convention taking place in Orlando this week (check out tomorrows blog post for some pictures of Convention), I didn’t have time to revamp or recreate another card.
Let me share the main item I used in creating this card…

I wanted to use PIGMENT ink on this card…so, I used pigment ink on TWO different places on this card.

1. I used the Enchantment pigment ink set, to stamp the cherries in the center of the card.

I LOVE the 1” cube size of these inks!!!
You can ink up a small portions of the stamp images with multiple colors!
 I used the Ruby & Olive pigment ink cubes, and then took my watercolor pencils and blending pen to color in the image!

2. I also used colonial white pigment ink to stamp the cherries as the background image. I LOVE how pigment ink stays bright and bold when it is stamped.

In this case, I wanted to tone the ink down a bit, so I used the Distressed Backgrounds stamp set (mesh image) to stamp over the cherry outline design.

 Other products used on this card…
Corner Rounder (new one arriving Aug 1st!)

June Stamp of the Month BLOG HOP…A Flowering Bunch

Welcome to our monthly
Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!
Today we will be featuring June’s Stamp of the Month (SOTM), which is called “A Flowering Bunch”, a set of 10 stamps.
6_2013_SOM_Image
I LOVE this flower stamp set…and it’s another GREAT stamp set that coordinates with our Artiste Cricut Cartridge !!!  Because it coordinates with this cartridge - it makes it so QUICK & EASY to create any item!

If you have come here from Michelle’s Blog, you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around. If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants here HERE

This month we have OVER 60 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month's stamp set!!  So, sit back and enjoy your tour as you click on the link at the end of the post to see what EACH Consultant has created!!
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 I created my card by using Close To My Heart’s FABULOUS How-to book called Originals Card Confidence Program
I LOVE our how-to books and how much TIME they SAVE me as I’m creating!!  By taking a simple sketch, and rotating it one turn…you create a NEW card every time! J
This card uses the pattern on pg. 59 called “Lucky Three”.
June SOTM_a flowering bunch_card_resize
I love the colors blue, green and lagoon…so out came the Later Sk8r paper pack.  Hmmm, this paper pack is typically known as a “boy” paper pack, but could I make it flowery?? (THAT’S a challenge J)
I LOVE to use the new background stamp sets that CTMH came out with this past spring…
on this card I used the Distressed Backgrounds stamp set.
Do you see the texture that it brings to the whisper grey cardstock?
June SOTM_a flowering bunch_card_close up_mesh background
When stamping the flower, I wanted it to “pop” and stand out…how could I get a flower to do this???
Then I remembered my White Daisy Pigment Ink!!  I hadn’t used this in a while, and was so thankful that I thought of it!! J
I pre-cut my flower and leaves shapes with the Artiste Cricut cartridge, and then stamped the flowers with the White Daisy ink and stamped the leaves in Pear ink.
June SOTM_a flowering bunch_card_close up_flower 2
Did you notice that the leaves are shaded in??
That can be accomplished so QUICKLY (& easily!)
I took the other leaf stamp in this stamp set and TURNED IT OVER - and inked up the backside of this leaf stamp!!!  Yes, it will be a blob of ink…but a blob of ink in the shape of the leaf! J
Stamp off the pear ink on scrap paper…and then use the 2nd shade of pear color to stamp onto your leaf!!!
To finish the flower on the card, I picked a grey button from the Black Button Asst. collection and attached a LARGE grey sparkle (from the Black & Grey sparkle asst.) to the middle of the button!!
June SOTM_a flowering bunch_card_close up
To finish the card, I pulled out my WASHI tape…and started adding a bit of tape here, and there…and EVERYWHERE!!!
I was pretty excited how it turned out, since this was the first time I created something on my own by using Washi tape. J
I hope you enjoyed my card and now head on over to  Krista’s Blog (that’s fellow consultant Krista Ritskes Winking smile) to see what she has created using this stamp set!
Be sure to visit ALL the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas!
until June 30! J
I’m SO EXCITED…part 2!
If you missed Part 1 of this post - CLICK HERE to see what the excitement is all about! J
If you are joining me again and are curious about the rest of the artwork I submitted to corporate…keep on reading!!!
Today I will be sharing the 2 page layout I submitted to Close To My Heart as part of my application to teach at Convention this year.
Surfs Up layout_beach_extravaganza submission
I had a LOT of fun, adding many details to these pages!
Let’s take a closer look at all the different aspects of this layout! J
I wanted to add some “texture” to the base pages of this layout…
To do that, I used our NEW stamp set Distressed Backgrounds. I took the mess like stamp, and inked it up in Lagoon colored ink, and stamped it on top of my Lagoon colored base pages!!Surfs Up layout_beach_close up background title
Do you see the dots also on the base page???  I sprayed these pages with a spray pen that was filled with re-inker, pearl paint and water!!  I LOVE the effect this gives the project!!
For the title, I used the Artiste Cricut Cartridge font for the “fun”, but chose to use our NEW Keyboard Kraft Alphabet letter stickers for the word “Beach”.
Next, I created my journaling tag…Surfs Up layout_beach_extravaganza submission_lose up journaling
by using the Artiste Cricut Collection, I created my own pocket for journaling AND a card to stick inside!!!
Check out all that you can do with the “U” button of the Artiste Cartridge!!
U key- Artiste
On this journaling tag, I also used the Tropical Paradise stamp set, and the Wooden mini-medley collection to add some color and texture.
My FAVORITE part of the layout, is this sun!!!
Surfs Up layout_beach_close up_sun bakers twine
It’s almost embarrassing to tell you how simple it was to create!! J Believe it or not, this sun is part of the My Stickease collection that coordinates with this Surf’s Up paper pack!!!
I will often use MY STICKEASE in my creation….and I love to “doctor up” these sticker images!!!
For the clouds, I sponged the edges in ink.
The sun, I used 3D foam and “popped” it up.  I also used the twine that comes in the Wooden Mini-medley asst pack and some liquid glass to make sure my twine stayed twirled.  Then I took some of our glitz glitter gel to add some sparkle to my beautiful sunshine!!
This layout gets me excited for our upcoming summer!  I LOVE to feel the sunshine on my face, and am so relaxed by the beating of the waves on the sand….I can hardly wait! J
That’s all for now, but I look forward to sharing the REST of the items with you that I submitted to corporate later on this week!!!!
Come on back and I look forward to seeing you soon!!!!
Blessings to you!
Krista J
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

 I created my card by using Close To My Heart’s FABULOUS How-to book called Make It From Your Heart!  This card uses pattern # 21.

My Sunshine_April SOTM_card

The 2nd order of business (after choosing my card design)...I made SURE I had my Artiste Cricut cartridge  (LOVE this cartridge!!!) in my machine!

I cut out the balloon AND the two different sized clouds!!!   (both images on page 70 of booklet) I LOVE when the stamp set I'm working with is Cricut compatible! J

By adding some stardust glitz glitter to the balloon, and using the 3D foam tape to give it some “pop”, it created dimension and feeling to my card. J
My Sunshine_April SOTM_close up balloon

I wanted to use the circle of words in this set, (I LOVE this group of words!) but I wasn’t sure how….UNTIL I decided to create a background with it!  It turned out a LOT better than I was expecting! Yay!!!

Also, take notice of the great wording “Have a nice day!”…this is just a sneak peek to what’s coming next month, in the EXCLUSIVE MAY Stamp of the Month stamp set.  (wink, wink)

My Sunshine_April SOTM_close up background

Chantilly paper X7163BDid you GUESS what designer paper pack I used on this card?? I only used one strip of designer paper, while the rest is cardstock...

But, if you said CHANTILLY - than you were correct!  A “pink, flowery” paper pack CAN be used for MANY different occasions AND creations! J

Products Used on this card:
Ink colors: Sunset, Outdoor Denim, Champagne, Buttercup

*****For those of you who would like to see close ups of the layout …let’s KEEP going!! J

Here is the picture of the layout by itself.

I used the Make It From Your Heart book, pattern 8 for this layout design.
Surf's Up layout

If you look closely at the bottom of this next picture…you can see the NEW background stamp set- Distressed Backgrounds- I used to stamp the entire base paper.  I LOVE the texture this brings to the layout!

Surf's Up layout_surfboard close up
I used the new Tropical Paradise stamp set to stamp the Surf boards in sorbet & crystal blue inks and then cut them out and added some 3d foam tape to give some dimension.

One tip for the surf boards…prior to stamping the sorbet surf board on my colonial white paper, I swiped my stamp across the sorbet ink pad to add the lines in the stamped image.  J  Then I used the almond glitz glitter gel to add some sparkle to both boards.

Another NEW PRODUCT I am so EXCITED about…

We have TWO choices…
Glitter paper_brown Z1830
Glitter paper_ black Z1829
 I LOVE this addition to our supplies!!!

I used my corner rounder to scallop the top piece of glitter paper shown here.  I used the Artiste Cricut cartridge to cut a 3” library/journaling pocket.

I stamped the hibiscus and “fussy cut” it out J…yes, I enjoy doing this!  I cut the 1 1/4” circle by using our circle punch and stamped “Hang Ten” in the circle.
Surf's Up layout_journal pocket close up

I’m not sure why the pictures  turned out so dark…even though it’s hard to see I thought I’d mention it…the base page is ALSO sprayed with some of our pearl paint.  This gives it a little more texture and shine for a FUN layout!!
