February SOTM Blog Hop - Sunny Thoughts

This stamp set caught my eye immediately when I first paged through our Seasonal Expression 1 mini-book.  LOOK at those words, look at the font....the flowers & vines - OH MY! :)   

Let's take a look at the card I created using this stamp set.... 

I chose to use a NEW card design pattern, from our Make It From Your Heart, vol 4 How-To-Book.  If you enjoy creating cards - you'll want to make SURE to check out this wonderful NEW sketch book!!  CLICK HERE to check it out :)  

 I also chose to use the beautiful new paper - "Gimme Some Sugar".  This paper pack is so pretty!! 

Take a look....one part of this card "looks like" paper, but it's not....it's paper I stamped to make it look like paper!! :)  
Did you find it??  Yes...you got it!!! That striped background was created using one of the borders in this stamp set!   

 Let's take another closer look, this time, at the circle where I stamped my sentiment.  
I ADORE the NEW Bashful Glitter Brush and try and use it whenever I can.  I traced the outside of the circle with the Bashful Glitter Brush!!  I love how the brush added just a little sparkle to the outside of the circle.  It was hard to capture on camera...but look closely, and I think you'll be able to see the shimmer. 

To finish off the card, I used some of our NEW Peacock Stitched Ribbon & the black shimmer dots come from the Chelsea Gardens Dots & Gems.

Post Bound Albums: The post-bound albums feature straight posts that have a screw, which allows for additional pages to be placed in the album when the screw is removed. You then close the album by replacing the cover and screwing it closed. 

Post-bound albums are ideally suited for projects that use traditional Memory Protectors without additional pocket seams and they allow for two-page layouts to be displayed smoothly.  

The new posts feature a fixed handle that can be raised for ease of twisting, eliminating the need for a screwdriver or fingernail to be inserted into the top of the album screw.  Post-Bound album size is 12½" × 13" × 2½"

February 2013 Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to our

Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!

This month we are featuring  Close To My Heart’s February 2013 SOTM, which is called “Home Sweet Home” a set of 4 stamped images! 

Here is a picture of the stamp set!!

Can you picture the MANY scrapbook pages, cards, 3D creations – you can create when using this set?? 

How about just pulling one word out of this set – “comfort”, “you”, “home”, etc…and using that word rather than the entire stamp???  Just a few things that are in my mind until I have more time to create! J

Here is the card I chose to create this month!!

I used one of our NEW paper packs, Claire. 

I LOVE the colors in this paper pack, and had a lot of fun creating this card!!!

Did you notice the BACKGROUND of this card???  Yes – it is stamped with one of our NEW background stamp sets!!  I used the NEW stamp set ~ D1544 Distressed Backgrounds. 

I used the mesh background on this card…but this stamp set also includes a houndstooth print and chicken wire print!!!  LOVE!!!

A few close ups…

 

I used our Artiste Cricut cartridge to create the “rosette” or “yo-yo" flower (not sure of the proper term- LOL!) behind the fussy cut, “Home Sweet Home” saying. 

Size was 1 1/2” flower, shift, 3D object, key P…on page 50.

I also used the NEW stamp set “Girls Rock”…this has QUICKLY become a new favorite of mine! I love the flowers in this stamp set!

It coordinates with our Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge making it even QUICKER to create a layout or card with these precut flowers!!!

Once I stamped the flower in Outdoor Denim ink, I added one of the NEW Claire assortment clear flowers on top!!

Take a look at what comes in this Claire Asst.

One last NEW embellishment item I used…the twine from the NEW Wooden Mini-medley set. I will be using this twine often in upcoming creations! J

February Stamp of the Month BLOG Hop

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!

We will be featuring February's SOTM, which is Thoughtful Tidings, a set of 11 stamps.

This month we have over 60 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month's SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs. I LOVE these blog hops and the inspiration I receive from them!  I can’t WAIT to see everyone’s ideas!!

Here we go!
I wanted to create a simple card this time.  This can be a challenge at times, because of all the wonderful, FUN products that Close To My Heart carries! J 
I started by pulling out my Wishes and Originals how-to-books to help me get a general idea of what type of card design I’d like to create. 

This pattern is from page 39 in the Wishes book.  It is called “Corner Shop” and is a 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 size card.  I hadn’t used the NEW LUCY paper pack yet…so I pulled out Lucy to give it a try.  Right away I realized I hadn’t taken the time to notice how BEAUTIFUL the floral design was!  My daughter noticed the crowns in the print right away!  Very subtle, but if you look they are definitely there too! 



I decided I didn’t want a “plain square card”…so I went to my Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge and found the scalloped square card design!  I set my dial size to 4 3/4” and started to cut. (I wanted to make sure my other squares fit nicely on the card…4 3/4” worked best) Yay!!!  How easy was that?!?! 



I cut the corner edged square with the Art Philosophy cartridge too…and stamped the wording in Cotton Candy ink.  Then, I used Grey Wool ink to sponge distress all of my card pieces.  Next, I pulled out some matching pink crochet ribbon from our ribbon collection and put the card together!

How QUICK and EASY this card was to create…and I plan to create some more of these card designs to give to those that have hosted a home gathering with me!
