~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Who remembers this Brushed paper pack from 2014?
Well, it is BACK with UPDATED colors & more gorgeous than before! There is EVEN a DISCOUNTED BUNDLE Brushed Kit -- that includes ALL of the goodies at a 20% DISCOUNT! :) :)
 Let's take a look at the card I created, using this BEAUTIFUL paper collection.
Recently, I have been seeing a lot of these Pull Tab Flip Cards come across my computer screen.  I knew I wanted to give this interactive card a try, so I headed to YouTube and was excited to see so many examples!
However, most of the card designs on YouTube, were created with tools I didn't have in my stash, so I needed to improvise.  ;) ...let the FUN begin!! LOL!!
I wanted to have a "tag edge" for my pulling mechanism.  I pulled out the CTMH Tags & Tabs Thin Cut set and used my die cutting machine in a different way than I normally use it.
Did you know you don't have to use ALL of the Die plates when running your metal die through your machine
Let me explain below...
(you can click on ANY photo in this post to enlarge it)
It was fun to remember to use my cutting machine this way -- and only cut PART of the image that I needed.  That created my PERFECT tag end for my pull out mechanism!!  Yay!!
The card front of this card is very simple...but I will say it's MUCH shinier in person! :)
A few highlights of the front of the card....
...a chevron "zip strip" was used at the bottom
...sponged Pixie ink around White Daisy mat
...used the stamp rolling technique with Canary & Pixie inks to get my 2 toned butterfly
....used Lagoon Shimmer Brush to color in the butterfly
...added Gold Glitter Gems to front of card.
I wanted to add a bit more color to the background of my white card base, so I used Green Apple ink to stamp some of the leaves from the stamp set.
Speaking of the stamp set, let's take a look at the "Your Own Kind of Wonderful" stamp set....look at all of those beautiful images!
The interactive part of the card is ---when you PULL the TAB -- the front square opens up to reveal another square!
Here is a closer look at the inside.
I inked the butterfly in Lagoon ink & then added Clear Shimmer Brush over top of the butterfly & used Gold Stickles for the body.
This stamp set is a favorite of mine, and while it was in our March/April catalog -- it is still available in the ONLINE ONLY section of your consultant's website -- while supplies last! :)
I then decided to stamp a few of the butterflies from the stamp set on the INSIDE part of the card, to carry my theme through.  To color these beauties, I used the Raspberry & Lagoon Shimmer Brushes.
Maybe you caught on that I ADORE all of the Shimmer Brushes we carry! LOL!!! :) :)  They are FABULOUS tools to color in images, and are so fun to use in other ways too!
This photo is what the card looks like all opened up. :)
The Front, middle front, and the inside of the "Pull Tab Flip Card".
Before we go--you'll want to make SURE to gaze at the BEAUTY of the  Brushed Paper collection...and yes there is a 12x12 Sticker Sheet included in this photo too. :)  This paper is ONLY available until July 31, 2020, OR While Supplies Last.
The colors in this kit are SO BEAUTIFUL and "happy" It's been a JOY to create with these vibrant colors!
Here we go!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Let it Shimmer!..This is one of my FAVORITE techniques!

I adore Sparkle & Shine & love to incorporate it into whatever project I'm working on.
Close To My Heart now carries 15 different colors of Shimmer Brushes, and EACH of them is so, so BEAUTIFUL!

Take a look at my card below, and even though it looks like there is no shimmer on this card, you'll soon see those "close up" photos and you'll be able to tell that YES --- there is LOTS of shimmer on this card design!!

Take a look...

This card design comes from our Make It From Our Heart How-To Book. I used the Volume 1, pattern #26 and I turned the card a quarter turn for this card design.

I used TWO stamp sets that are a part of the Bring Back Your Pack - Brushed Bundle.

Take a peek these TWO stamp sets---
 D1602 Budding Friendship
D1627 Your Own Kind of Wonderful

Look at these BEAUTIFUL stamp sets!  The Butterfly stamp sets "get me" every time :)  I can't help myself!!

Let's take a look at the 3 ways I used the Shimmer Brush on this card.

1. Clear Shimmer Brush --- over top of the flowers

I ADORE using the Clear Shimmer brush over top of already stamped artwork!  You can see a bit of the shiny sparkle on the pink & lagoon colored flowers.
For the pink flower, I used Smoothie ink for the outline image & Pixie for the inside.

The teal flower was created by using Lagoon ink. The outline was stamped in Lagoon & the inside was stamped with Lagoon - 1st generation. First Generation means that I inked up the inside part of the flower in Lagoon ink, stamped that image on scrap paper ....and then without reinking the stamp image, I stamped it directly INSIDE the flower!  So if you haven't know before, EVERY ink pad has at least 2 shades (if not 3 shades) of color!

2. Lagoon Shimmer Brush - highlight words

It's best to use Intense Black Ink, or a non-smearing ink when highlighting words ;) ...however, I DID use our waterbased inks when I created this & it didn't smear! :)  I only did ONE (and only one) swipe across the words -- nothing smeared!! Yay!!
I wish you could see that Lagoon shimmer in person --its SO pretty! :)

3. Bashful Shimmer Brush --- used to Splatter the Background.
(Bashful is a retired shimmer brush...but there are plenty of other colors to choose from! ;) )
 Take a look at the top Right of the photo...and you'll see the shiny splatters there!  It's so fun to tap your Shimmer Brush on your finger & watch the "splatter" take place on your paper.  When doing this technique, you'll want to MAKE SURE your work space is cleared from any projects you don't want splattered :) LOL!!  The splattering tends to go a lot farther on your workspace, than expected. :)

Another "Shiny Item" I used on this card, is our Holographic Papers :) :)
We have two different colors & I used the Oasis shade, and again...if you could see this in person, you would be amazed that iridescent, shiny look of this beautiful paper!

This photo from CTMH, captures the Holographic shine a bit better.

I hope you enjoyed this card & technique and were INSPIRED today!! :)

Make sure to contact your CTMH consultant to learn how you can get these BEAUTIFUL papercrafting goodies!  The Brushed Paper Bundle/Stamp sets will be leaving us on July 31, 2020. (or while supplies last)

Joyful Stars Blog Hop - Graduation Card

Welcome to our monthly hop!

We're excited to share our creativity with you using PRODUCTS
from Close To My Heart!!

Come on in and see what BEAUTIFUL projects my crafty friends have creating using the AMAZING products from Close To My Heart!!

 This blog hop is easy to do…just click on the link at the end of the post to go to the next creation!!  If you get lost along the way, CLICK HERE to see the list of this month’s hoppers!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you have arrived from talented friend Joyce G's blog you are right on track.
It's that time of year, when Graduations are taking place --- even if it's a bit different than our celebrations in the past.
I ADORE the "For the Graduate" stamp set that we currently have at CTMH & was excited to use if for TODAY's hop!
Let's take a look.
I had two nieces that graduated this year...and while I was so SAD for them, they really accepted it as well as they could.
Their school colors are RED --- and so I went through my papers & realized this paper from our still current, Holly Jolly paper pack -- had the PERFECT shade of red inside!
I didn't think I'd use a CHRISTMAS paper pack, in the middle of June! LOL!!
I LOVE that we can buy the 6 pack of paper sheets WITHOUT the "Christmas Themed" sticker sheet if we choose!
I created these cards above, from another set of cards I made in January this year...maybe you remember them?
The card designs came from our FABULOUS How-To books!
I happened to still have those cards in hand, and put them side by side so you can COMPARE and see how similar but how DIFFERENT they are!
Isn't it AMAZING at what a different paper pack can do?
For the tan/brown cards, I used our still current, Yesterday & Today paper collection. Take a look at this pack of Neutral papers!
 Let's take a look at the GREAT stamp set I used on these cards! This "For the Graduate" stamp set has so many FUN images in this set...I only used 4 of the 10 images!
This stamp will be available on a while supplies last basis ---it actually was a NEW stamp set back in March of this year!!
I wanted to add some sparkle and shine on these cards, but wanted them to be a bit different from each other too.
One card I used Silver Glitter Paper...and then highlighted the "grad" with our RED shimmer brush...
the second card I used Silver Heat Embossing & added some fun clear sparkles around the embossing too!!
Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoyed my card & were inspired to create some of your own.
Happy Crafting & have a LOVELY evening!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Now it’s time to Hop on over to Nancy 's Blog   and see what BEAUTIFUL, crafty item she has to share with us today! :)

Happy Hopping and we’ll see you on the 9th next month, when the Joyful Stars team members will be sharing more artwork using Close To My Heart products!

Blessings to you for BEAUTIFUL day!!!

Here we go!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For tonight's hop, I chose to create with the collection of Let's Stay Home stamp sets.
First, let's take a peek at the Layout I created, and then we'll take a look at the CLOSE-UP details on this layout.
Here's the layout design....
This layout design came from pattern #18 in our  Make It From Your Heart, vol 3 How-To Book.  If you have read any of my other posts, you probably already know -- that I USE these How-To books ---- ALL ----THE----TIME!!!
They are my TIME SAVER! (and I love the beauty of these designs too!)
I wanted to use Sapphire, as my "main" stamping color -- and to make it a more solid shade of Sapphire, I decided to pull out my Sapphire Pigment Pad, my clear embossing powder & my heat tool.
The title "Explore the Great Indoors" and the tag "keeping our Social Distance" were heat embossed with the Sapphire pigment blue ink.
I felt it needed a bit of "sparkle" to the page ...and that's when I realized how well the PEACH shimmer brush would go with these colors ---YAY for multiple shades of Shimmer Brushes!
I added a few Silver Glitter gems over the entire 2 page spread too!!
I ended up using all THREE of the Covid 19 stamp sets!!  You can take a look at these stamp images below...
CC3212 Let's Stay Home
CC5217 The Great Indoors
CC5218 On Repeat
I did some "masking" on this Carolina blue tag.
By using post it notes, I "masked off" the parts of the stamp image I didn't want ink to get on.
Then I inked up the stamp....took off those post it notes (that got the ink on them) and I have a PERFECTLY inked up stamp, with only the words I wanted ---inked!
I was able to create my tag, by stacking the words! Yay for Masking!!
For my tag "string"...I used strips of silver glitter paper. :)  I couldn't find the "right" silver ribbon --so why not use something that LOOKS like ribbon. LOL!!
You may have also noticed, that I used our NEW Tags & Tabs Thin Cut set!  I used all 4 thin cut dies on this 2 page spread!
You may be asking yourself --- Why did she use the "These Are My People"
paper collection for this layout? Wasn't that March's special?  LOL!!
GOOD QUESTION!!  Yes--- this paper was available in March AND is STILL AVAILABLE now on your consultant's website in the ONLINE ONLY section!!
(you'll want to make sure to check out this section often!!)
I created some other 12x12 pages, using this paper pack & plan to use this color scheme for my COVID 19 scrapbook pages.
Take a look at this BEAUTIFUL paper collection!!
I hope you enjoyed my layout & that you were INSPIRED in some way today!! :)
Now it's time to "Hop" on over to Cat's Blog to see her beautiful creation!
