Mojo Monday - Just Because card

I was so excited to get a few moments to create a card for a wonderful customer of mine!  I appreciate her so very much!  She always shares so much with me & I’m so thankful we became friends because of Close To My Heart & our love of papercrafting! J

In creating her a card, I decided to use some of  Close To My Heart retiring items. (these items end July 31st OR while supplies last!  Click here for the most current retired list J)

When I was thinking about what card to create….I happened upon the Mojo Monday sketch & decided to give that a try!

Here’s the Mojo Monday sketch for this week…

I enjoy using sketches to get me started…especially when I feel my creative juices have gone away. J Here’s the card I created using this sketch!

I will miss the smokey plum & olive colors in Ivy Lane’s paper pack!!  But as you know, when a beautiful paper collection goes away at CTMH there are some more NEW paper packs that will be debuting on August 1st!!

As I looked at my card, I knew I needed something else….so I added a few NEW items to complete this design!! 

Take a look at a new STAMP set that will be available on August 1st!  This new stamp set is called “Have a  Happy Day”.  (Stamp set images are the flowers, leaves, bracket, wording, branches on tan paper) I can’t WAIT to show you this entire stamp set!  I know it’s a stamp set I will be using often!! 

I wanted to add some sparkle & shine, so I pulled out the NEW purple 12x12 Glitter paper!! Wahoo!!  I love how glitter paper adds so much to ANY creation!!

If you don’t already own CTMH’s glitter paper..you’ll want to make sure you get some!  They come in a variety of 4 different sets of colors and each pack comes with (3) 12x12 sheets.  


This glitter paper IS Cricut compatible, and is a wonderful accent for ANY of your creations!!  In this case, I used our wonderful Scallop Border Punch to create that beautiful scalloped edge on this glitter paper.  I use this punch so often!! 

By using CTMH’s 5x7 embossing folder, I added some more texture & dimension to the background of this card, completing this card.

Today I thought I’d share a baby card I made this past week.  I needed a BOY card, and created this card using the Ivy Lane (girly J paper pack) & the Paper Fundamentals collection.  

Take a look at what the Ivy Lane paper pack looks like… If you notice, I used the green side of the first designer paper. 

I challenge myself often to use a paper collection in a way it wasn’t intended to be used.  What FUN and interesting creations I can create when I allow myself to think this way! J

I also used one of our newer products - the Basics Paper Fundamentals papers…oh my…these are so FUN!!! Take a look, this pictures shows both sides of the papers…

…the 1st side is a glossy printed cardstock, while the second side has the same pattern, but in your “normal” paper appearance.  I’m hoping that in the NEXT Idea Book (Aug. 1st) CTMH will debut MORE of this collection in a multitude of colors!!! J

I pulled in a different color than listed with the Ivy Lane paper pack.  Outdoor Denim was the perfect color to accent the green and helped turn it into a GREAT boy baby card! J

The “New Arrival” stamp set is one you’ll want to have in your collection - AND it’s Cricut compatible to CTMH cartridges too!!

The only embellishment I chose to use on this card was our BEAUTIFUL outdoor denim chevron ribbon…nice & simple. 

The card pattern came from our Make It From Your Heart, vol. 2, pattern 28.

If you have arrived from my fellow teammate & friend Nickie Hoffer’s blog you are right on track. 

I created a 2 page layout & matching card using the NEW Ivy Lane paper pack. 

This paper pack is PERFECT for Valentine’s day, but can also be used in many other ways too!

This layout design came from the Make It From Your Heart, vol. 1 - Pattern #15. 

I LOVE our how-to books J…yes, I’ve mentioned this in previous posts - but I am AMAZED at the time they save me as I sit down to create!!

I used our FABULOUS Artbooking Cricut cartridge to cut out my Title…and then used our NEW PINK 12x12 glitter paper and used an xacto knife to cut out a sparkly “&”. 

Here is the card I created to "match" the layout above.  This card design was created with the Make It From Your Heart vol 2 how-to-book, Pattern #28.

I used the Ivy Lane paper, but also used a NEW 2014 product from CTMH called Paper Fundamentals cardstock!  I believe this will be a NEW favorite paper pack!!  

Take a look at this cardstock in the picture below.   

Can you see the pre-embossed hearts on the tan paper? This is ONE of the 10 patterned designs in this NEW Paper Fundamentals Basics paper collection!! 

I was amazed at the BEAUTY of this paper when I saw it in person!! J

Take a look at the fundamentals paper once again in this picture (love those embossed hearts!), and you can see how I popped up the heart in the "I love you" image.  

It used our M-size (for mini size) stamp set ~ "Dotted Love".  This is a single stamp that retails at just $2.95!!  We have over 15 M-size stamp images!!  Make sure to check out the collection of our m-size stamp sets!!
