Today we will take a peek at a 12x12 layout & coordinating card made with our BEAUTIFUL Laughing Lola paper collection!

Here is the layout & card…

I created this card & layout to use at my home parties during the month of January 2014.  We always create a card at my parties…so you may wonder - Why did I create a layout too?? 

For those that consider themselves “scrapbookers” at my party…I wanted to encourage them to take this card design and apply it to a scrapbook page!! 

Also for my card makers - I want them to think “outside of the box” and look at a scrapbook page & see how they could make a card design!!!

Now, most of the time I don’t come up with these patterns on my own J …but rather I use Close To My Heart’s WONDERFUL books!!!

  I use these books EVERY time I create!!  It saves me precious TIME whenever I use these books!  I LOVE how QUICK & EASY it makes my create time!! 

This card design came from the Wishes how-to book.  You will find it on page 70…it’s one of the card designs from a card workshop!!   I added a few strips of “extra” paper, and added to the design that CTMH already created….but I started out with this sketch! 

Notice I did get out my SANDING block J and I used the LAGOON washi tape to add some “texture” to the middle of my tan (bamboo colored) banner. 

The background is stamped with the CHEVRON pattern from In the Background stamp set…

the bird is from the Fabulous You stamp set…

and the Happy Birthday is from the Joyful Birthday stamp set. 

This layout design came from the Make It From Your Heart, vol. 2 - pattern #10.

I also included sanding, washi tape, stamp sets in this layout too!! 

I did use the Artbooking Cricut cartridge to cut out the “Birthday” wording & added additional embellishments from the Laughing Lola asst.

You Are My Happy - National Stamping Month Blog Hop!

Here is the card I created...

I used our NEWEST how-to book, Make It From Your Heart, volume 2 - Pattern #20, to create this card.  I LOVE the fun, new patterns in this WONDERFUL new how-to book!!

I pulled out our NEW paper pack Laughing Lola to create my “Happy” card.  I started by stamping the background of my white daisy cardstock with the script image from Universal Backgrounds stamp set. J

One of my Favorite things about this stamp set…

****this TRIO stamp set is Cricut Compatible!!  ****

What does this mean?  It means that 5 of the shapes in this stamp set, can be cut out using the Art Philosophy.  and you can stamp the coordinating image directly on top of the shape!!

For example - that’s EXACTLY what I did with the flower on my card!!  I cut the flower shape (on pg. 50) on the Art Philosophy cartridge out at 1 1/2”, and stamped the flower image PERFECTLY on top of the cut out shape!

Take a look at the flower…

I used 3 of our alcohol markers (they come in 80 colors!) to color in the one flower…Gypsy, Crystal Blue and the light Olive marker.

Did you notice the filled in flower petals?  Yes, I LOVE the Stardust Glitz Glitter Gel J

I am really excited about the Lagoon Washi Tape that I added to my bottom border.  I cut out a piece of black cardstock, and added the Washi tape directly over top!  ***Stay tuned, because in mid-Oct 2013 CTMH will be releasing 6 more washi tapes patterns & colors! Wahoo!****

The frame shape with the sentiment (You are my Happy) , came from the Artiste Cricut Cartridge, key 6.  I used that wonderful glitz glitter gel to outline the frame, to carry over the sparkle and shine on this card. J

Did you notice the black scallop border?  That is what our NEW Scallop Border Punch can do!!

I’ve been using this border punch on so many things!!  It works great to scallop our rolls of shimmer trim OR edge any paper or cardstock, like I did here! J

Since I was having so much fun creating with the Laughing Lola paper pack, I decided to create some 3x3 cards with my leftover scraps too!

I hope this inspires you to create some projects of your own! J

I really loved the FLOWER that comes in the You Are Happy Stamp set, and wanted to see if I HAD to color it in with markers, or could I just stamp it on colored cardstock. J

Here is the card I created with this set…

I used the NEW Make It From Your Heart, volume 2 how-to book - pattern #28.  I’m SO EXCITED that we have a NEW how-to book!!

I LOVE how Close To My Heart’s cricut cartridges coordinate with MANY of our stamp sets!!!  How EASY - this makes it for us as we create!!! I used the Perfect Fit- Frames 2 stamp set to stamp my frame design…and I cut this gray shape at 2 1/2” using our Artiste Cricut cartridge.

The wording (happy birthday) that I used on this card came from another BRAND NEW stamp set that is SURE to be a FAVORITE! J

This stamp set is called Holiday Tags…and you’ll want to make SURE to check out this new set!  I know it is one I will be using quite often!!! J
