If you ever need to create "Quick & Easy" cards...you may want to give Close To My Heart's Picture My Life (PML) pocket cards a try!! 





Let's take a look at my 2 cards today...and then we'll chat MORE about what PML cards are all about.  
  

  

Our PML cards, are a pack of (12) 4x3 and (12) 4x6 pocket cards.  Yes...they may have been created for our "pocket scrapbookers"....but I know how much I ADORE them as a cardmaker too!
Here is just a SAMPLING of the 24 card designs that are included in this pack. 

I cut down & trimmed the different PML cards and added some of our Mix-In papers to create card fronts using our BULK White Card Bases & Envelopes....love these!!  

Here is a look at the Cedar & Pine PML cards & the Complements I used to create these cards.

The complements are chipboard TAGS....and by adding them into my card design, I was able to add more dimension to my card.  A HUGE thanks for my dear friend Gina Brandstetter & her inspiration for these cards!!  I actually created 15 cards with the entire pack of PML cards....I'll be sharing the rest of these cards on my FB page over the next couple of weeks. :) 

I added a few more products into these card designs...
*Gold Glitter Paper
*Skinny White & Gold Ribbon
*Clear Shimmer Brush
* Loose Gold & Holiday Sequins

I tried to capture the beautiful SHIMMER that the shimmer brush created on the trees.  Can you see it on these photos below?? 

 It was the PERFECT, sparkly accent to adding "snow" the trees, printed on the PML card!

Holiday Sparkle - Season of Joy Blog Hop

Today, we will see a variety of artwork, showcasing our "Season of Joy" Cricut cartridge digital collection AND/OR our "Holiday Sparkle" cardmaking kit October Special!!

I ADORE the October special & decided to re-create a few cards from the Holiday Sparkle cardmaking kit that is available ONLY in October 2018! 

Let's take a look at the 2 cards I created....and then we'll talk more about what's all included in this kit. 

Here are the cards I created....

I ADORE snowflakes & wanted to add some more glitter & sparkle to my card design....so out came some glitter paper, shimmer trim & the new Winter Flurries Thin Cuts (metal dies) to create the cards shown above.  

Take a look at this close up....those "blue looking" sequins - they are ACTUALLY iridescent in color!!! But because of the blue card base - the sequins turned the color blue! 

The words "Warm Wishes" come from an EXCLUSIVE stamp set that is also included in the Discounted Cardmaking kit!!! Take a look at all the beautiful sayings in this set!!

I also used the Shaker Card Thin Cuts, to create a Glacier Cardstock stitched circle (even though there is a white stitched circle frame included in the kit ;) ) .  
This Thin Cut set is so FUN!!  Do you see the other metal die from this set, that I used on my card???

Yes - you guessed it!!!....I used the heart confetti with some Raspberry cardstock & added it to the sequins inside of the Shaker part of the card!! :) 

Now, let's take a look at the second card - you can see I used the single snowflakes stamps..... from the stamp set above.  

The border of snowflakes to the left of the card, comes from another stamp set called "Holiday Borders"...I just couldn't pass it up, as the snowflakes matched so perfectly!! :) :

Just a note...I put a few too many sequins inside the shaker part, before I closed it....I am AMAZED at how little of the sequins you use in each shaker box!! :)

The "Holiday Sparkle" cardmaking kit is a pre-printed, Cut Above kit (that means everything is included)  to create 12 - 5x7 Christmas cards! 

Here are the 2 card designs created by CTMH.  

All the images you see on the card, are either punch out die cut shapes or stickers!  The kit ALSO INCLUDES, the foam & acetate windows needed to create the shaker part of the card PLUS the bag of loose sequins too!!  All you will need to put these 12 card designs together is your adhesive! :) 

You can EVEN CHOOSE to decorate the included envelopes with the stickers!!

Retiring Soon…Post #3 –Oh Deer, Perfectly Pine, A Little Jingle….Christmas Cards

In my last couple of BLOG posts, I’ve been sharing items that are RETIRING on Dec 31, 2016 OR While Supplies Last!!

These items are some of "My Favorite Things" and I wanted to make sure you don’t miss out on these products, especially if they are a part of your wish list.  

As you may have heard, Close To My Heart's Holiday Expression "mini" book, will be ending on December 31, 2016.  At CTMH, we have a NEW mini book that arrives every 4 months....so that means our NEW Seasonal Expression 1 "mini" book will be arriving on Jan 1, 2017. 

So make sure to check your wish list, and make sure you have what you need from the Holiday Expression mini book prior to its retirement.

Today, let’s take a look at this adorable card!  This card was created by Jodi Hoover, and she was inspired to create this card from the card shown on page 44 of the Holiday Expressions mini-book.

There are 3 items, used on this card, that will be leaving us soon…

This was another card that we created at our Christmas Cardmaking Day 2016.  What fun!! (click on the link above to check out what that day was all about ;)) 

Take a look at this close up photo…

Can you see that we used heat embossing on the golden bells?  It’s amazing what a little extra embossing does to this card.   

The gold shimmer was our glitter paper, however – you could just as easily use our gold shimmer trim and cut it in half to get the same effect.

The PERFECTLY PINE stamp set is one of my absolute favorites in this book….here are a few more pieces of artwork created with this stamp set.

Today, I chose to create with one of my favorite Christmas stamp sets in this Holiday Expressions mini-book.  

I know it's not Christmas yet J...the leaves are just starting to turn here in PA....but last week, my team & I held our annual Christmas Cardmaking Day, and that allowed us to start "getting in the mood" for the Christmas season.

Take a look at the stamp set called Festive Trees. 

This stamp set has SO MANY possibilities!!  

I probably SHOULD have taken pictures of all the different stamped images I have laying on my "to create later" pile.J 

  I did some background designs created with the words in this set, and created some fun trees...and even flowers - the ideas are ENDLESS!! 

OK...so back to today's creation... 

This stamp set has an  added bonus.... it COORDINATES with our "Art Philosophy" Cricut cartridge!!  Wahoo!!! That makes it even EASIER to create, quick but BEAUTIFUL creations!! 

Let's take a look at the two cards I created today...

Stamp set used - Festive Trees from CTMH

You'll see a list of all the items I used to create these cards at the end of this post....but for now, let's take a close up look of both of these cards. 

I love how the Confetti Embossing Folder, can look like snow falling!!!

Take a look at Card #1...

I cut the 3 trees out with the Art Philosophy Cricut collection & then stamped them in Fern & NE Ivy ink colors.  

Notice the circle area that is NOT EMBOSSED in the middle of the card.  I used our NEW Embossing Diffuser to create this "empty" space of no embossing!!!  

We have a circle & square diffuser that are NEW to CTMH this fall, and I'm finding out how FUN a tool it is to have!! 

I also pulled out my edge distresser & sandpaper and sanded off some of the circles & edges of the card to show our BEAUTIFUL white-cored cardstock.  I LOVE the option that all CTMH paper has - it's all white-cored!!!   

Next, let's take a look at Card #2....

This card uses the White Pines paper collection & some Paper Fundamentals too. 

This card, was quick & easy...I LOVE the added "texture" that the paper fundamentals brings to the card.  

For the  stamping of the trees- this time I stamped directly onto the square of cardstock & didn't use the Cricut machine.  

So...how did I fill in the large tree with color?  J 

Don't forget that you can TURN THE STAMP OVER & use the "back side" of your acrylic stamps!! When doing this, it will give you a solid shape, and often will be perfect to give the stamped image some color!!  

I inked up the back side of the stamp in NE Ivy ink....and stamped off onto scrap paper, and THEN stamped the lighter shade of this color over top of the tree to fill it in with color. 

To get the red dots on the tree, I used my ShinHan alcohol marker...I love how quick & easy I can add color to any image!

Something else you should know about this SPECIAL stamp set...J
