Guest Designer at Atlantic Hearts this week!

Hello to each one of you!   What a honor & privilege it was to be asked to be the guest designer at the Atlantic Heart’s Sketch Challenge this week. Thank you Michelle for asking me!  

This week, we had the challenge to create with Sketch #183

I was excited to give it a try!!

Here’s the card I created this week.

My card creation began, knowing that I wanted to use the stamp set Lovely Leaves.  My plan was to create a fall card….LOL…oh well, I’ll have to save that for next time, because this is what my card turned out to be.  

Isn’t it so amazing how we “think” we’ll create something, and our hands totally do something totally different than we image?  The fun & Joy of creating!  

I always enjoy adding texture to the background of the card…and so I ran my Sea Glass cardstock through my embossing machine. 

This time, I also wanted to do some Heat embossing, and gold embossing seemed to be the perfect fit. What FUN it was to pull out my craft heater once again…it may take a little extra time, but it’s so worth the final results.

Did you take notice of the paper I embossed the leaves on?  Guess which paper collection that design is from? 

Ok..I’ll tell you…it’s from our halloween paper collection – Jeepers Creepers!!  You really CAN use CTMH’s papers for any occasion!!

I wanted to find the perfect wording for this card.  It needed to be “script” (in my mind) and it needed to be small enough to fit at the bottom of the card…and that led me to our beautiful NEW stamp set – Pretty Poinsettia…take a look.

Each month, CTMH has a "featured" paper pack of this month.  This month the paper pack is "Jeepers Creepers".  Even though I don't personally celebrate halloween, I was excited to see the beautiful papers in this collection!  

Check out the card I created for today :)  

I used a NEW stamp set from the Holiday Expressions mini-book....it's called Woodland Critters....take a look. 

The 3 word "bubbles" can all be cut out with the CTMH Cricut cartridge - Artistry.  I love stamp sets where images can be cut out!

 I can't wait to use the other critters in this stamp set....and that ACORN, it's so adorable! 

I wanted to give dimension to this card, so I used a lot of 3d foam tape...under the owl, under the leaves & under the white square that the owl is on.

The leaves were hand cut with our FABULOUS micro-tip scissors, and I used 2 sets of ribbon (the Adventure collection & the Rustic Home collection) and some gold shimmer trim to complete this card. 

CTMH Art department also did a fabulous job with this stamp set...take a peek! 

How CUTE are these items?!?! :)
