~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you have arrived from Marie's blog you are right on track.
I hope you all are doing well, in our bit of a "crazy" world today. I know crafting has been my go to & it's been a joy to craft & create more than normal :)
Close To My Heart designed a special stamp set for this time of our lives...this is the stamp I chose to focus on today.
Here are the 2 cards I created.
The special stamp set, created by CTMH is this one here...
We can choose to find good in this situation :) ...and by taking time to take photos, write down feelings, memories, crazy things that are happening, we will PRESERVE & DOCUMENT these memories for future generations!
What a FABULOUS stamp set, to record these memories! Make sure to check with your CTMH consultant to get this exclusive stamp
Here is a close up of the first card...
I ADORE our stitched shapes, and yes...the stitched heart Thin Cuts were perfect to add to this card.
Let's take a close look at the background...
FIRST -- maybe you are wondering...why or HOW did I choose the colors for this card design??
Well---HAVE you HEARD the Exciting News??
This month at CTMH, we are having aCARDSTOCK CARNIVAL SALE!  We are SO excited about the 20-40% savings...make sure you talk to your consultant ASAP before this sale ends on April 30th (or while supplies last!)
This Green-Blue Cardstock Bundle that I used for these 2 cards, is 30% off retail price!
So, let's take a close up look at the many techniques we used on our Fabulous White-Cored Cardstock! :)
I ADORE our Embossing folders at CTMH -- and I used the "Flower Garden" embossing folder.
BUT...do you also see the striped embossed cardstock?
This, I created myself by using my bone folder & the groove in my paper trimmer (the groove where the blade normally is located ) :)
With this 2nd card design, I sanded the top of the Embossed flower piece, giving it a rougher appearance.
 I used some of our Diamond Stickles to fill in the heart & add a bit of sparkle to this card design.
Take a look at ANOTHER way to use our cardstock...tearing.
The border on the right side of the card, was tore to allow the white-core to show through! What a fun, rustic look!
I love those little houses in the "Let's Stay Home" stamp set! I stamped these 3 houses in 3 different colors, glacier, mint & peacock...then I fussy cut them out & paper pieced them together! :)
Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoyed my cards & were inspired to create some of your own.
Happy Crafting & have a LOVELY evening!!!
Some of these items, you have seen in past posts, but there is one more item that I created to apply that I hadn’t yet shared on my blog! J
Check it OUT!!!   A FUNSHINE card!!!Surf's Up card_having some funshine
I really liked how this“Having Some Funshine” card turned out…and the best part is that the card design came from one of CTMH’s How-To-Books Make It From Your Heart - volume 1, pattern #24.
I know I’ve mentioned it before…but I have to tell you again…I LOVE these how-to books!!! They save so much TIME and help me to create Faster.Simpler. Easier!!
The best part…it’s ONLY $7.95 - and this gives you (16) 2 page layouts, (2) 1 page layouts and (12) card designs!!! Yay!!
Ok - on to details about the card…
I wanted to use a lot of different techniques to try and make this card a FUN, Wow card. J
First, I sanded the lagoon cardstock with the rough-sided sand paper to  create some rustic cardstock.  Next, I  did a lot of inking the edges, but rather than using a sponge for a soft look….I swiped my papers across the ink pad giving it a more rustic look.
I used TWO of our new stamp sets…
Surf's Up WOTG kit G10591. the stamp set from the Surf’s Up Workshop on the Go kit
The Surf’s Up Workshop stamp set can ONLY be purchased by getting the WOTG kit!  I love this set!  BUT…I couldn’t create an item without using that adorable turtle that comes in the Tropical Paradise stamp set. J
To add some glitz and glam - I used the dark brown sheet of glitter paper, and I used the bronze glitz glitter gel to edge my card.
The NEW Surf’s Up assortment is the BEST…and that’s how I got that adorable accordian fold flower with the button on top.
Take a look at the Surf’s Up assortment….and it's only $5.95!
Here is a picture of ALL the items I created for the swap…
Surf's Up_5 pieces_Karen Morris swap
Today, let’s take a look at the tropical palm tree card!
Surf's Up card_palm tree
I love the variety of colors associated with the Surf’s Up paper pack.  On this card, I chose to pull out ONE of the designed papers from this paper pack and added cardstock to incorporate more colors into this card creation.
For those that know me J, you know I enjoy making my items looked distressed.  This is SO EASY to accomplish  with Close To My Heart products…all of our cardstock & designer paper are white-cored – meaning that in the middle of our papers there is WHITE that you can chose to have come through.  You can tear your paper, so the white shows.  You can sand it or you can chose to leave it as it is!
So…when I wanted to emboss lines into my cardstock, I embossed,and than sanded that design – ta-da – I have created a TOTALLY new look with my chocolate cardstock!!!
The Ponderosa Pine cardstock was distressed using our affordaedge distresserble, handy tool called our Edge Distresser
At only $2.50 each, you’ll want to make sure to have this in your tool kit so that you can “shave” your cardstock edges…giving them a roughed up look.
I LOVE the new stamp set that I used for this card…Tropical Paradise
Tropical Paradise stamp set
The palm tree comes all as one stamp, so HOW did I get the varying colors???
CLEAR STAMPS are the BEST – it’s SO EASY to ink your stamps in different colors prior to stamping!!!
Surf's Up card_palm tree_close up tree
Can you see where I inked the Ponderosa Pine and chocolate inks on the palm tree?  I wiped ink OFF of the flower at the bottom of the tree, and stamped the tree on my paper.
THAN, I cleaned my palm tree stamp, and inked just the small flower at the bottom in sorbet ink and stamped it…giving us a sorbet colored flower. J
Here’s a close up of the bottom section of my card…
Surf's Up card_palm tree_close up
Did you notice the “glass dots”?  I LOVE adding Liquid Glass to a creation, to give it a “little extra”.  Liquid Glass is ALSO a GREAT glue/adhesive!!!  It is a “MUST” to have Liquid Glass whenever I am creating! J
The twine, and wooden button come from our NEW Wooden mini-medley…a wonderful variety of neutral colored embellishments.
I hope you are encouraged and EXCITED to purchase some of your own Surf’s Up paper!!  There are SO Many ways to use this paper pack – and NOT just for your summer photos!
Come back and join me for details on my “NON-Summer” card that I created with this paper pack!!
