Today I created a card that uses soon-to-be-retired product as well as brand NEW goodies too! :)  

I had the honor of making my baby brother a 40th birthday card this week, and I was EXCITED to use this new stamp set called "Hunting for Words" .  What a GREAT outdoors/nature Stamp set!!!  LOVE this new set! :) 

Ok...now that we saw this beauty, let's take a peek at the card I created!  
  

A simple card, but perfect for my brother who is a big outdoors-man. :)   

I used our FABULOUS How-To-Book, Make It From Your Heart, vol 1, pattern #26 for my inspiration of this card design.  However, if you have this book, and take a look at the pattern, it will look a bit different than this card.  I used the patterns as my "starting point" & LOVE that by doing this, it SAVES me so much TIME!! :)

I chose NOT to color this "big guy" in....but instead I used our NEW stamp set - "Splash of Color" & added some background images with a NEW COLOR - Mink.    

I then used another NEW product....eekkkk...all these FUN, new goodies! :) 
We have MORE "Thin Cuts" (metal dies for those that aren't familiar with CTMH language ;) ) 

We have LOTS of new dies, but in this case I used our "Basic Banners - Thin Cuts".  
Then, I used the "Marker Alphabet" stamp set, and stamped the 40.  
The word "happy" came from the "Hunting for Words" stamp set - and I handwrote the "th" with my black journaling pen. :)    

What about the paper?  Which paper pack did I use for this card?

This is our "handsome" Jack paper collection!  AND...this is the item that is RETIRING soon!!  This paper collection will be retiring on August 31, 2017, so make sure you have enough of this to last a lifetime! :)

Today I wanted to showcase some of our NEW Fundamentals papers!!   Here’s a close up look at the WHIMSY collection.

(make sure you check with your CTMH consultant to ask her about THIS MONTH’s special!)

With the release of the BRAND NEW 2016-2017 Annual Inspirations this past week, there are LOADS of new goodies for you to see!!

Here is the card I created for today…

There are so many FUN, new products used on this card!!

I used 3 stamp sets on this card – Birthday Sparkle, Happy for You & Way to Go. You can check out the images of these stamps at the bottom of this post.

Let’s take a closer look…

I also used TWO of our new 5x7 embossing folders!! 

The sweet Leaf green cardstock was embossed with the Word Search folder, while the sorbet cardstock I used the Chevron.

I was DELIGHTED to learn that with a smaller strip of paper – the chevron can also be turned into just “plain” diagonal lines!!  Yay!!!

To incorporate MORE of the designs from the Whimsy Fundamental collection, I stamped and cut out one of the heart balloons too! 

The only stamp that is used from the “Way To Go” stamp set, is that ADORABLE heart banner on the left hand side of the card.

Today I wanted to share one of my FAVORITE new items from Close To My Heart!! 

Did you know that we have an entire line of “Cut Above” card kits?  Cut Above card kits are the PERFECT addition to have on hand to create beautiful cards in a very SHORT amount of time!

These cards took me about 5 minutes to create, and while they are simple – they turned out beautiful!  

This first card, I used the Z3222 Fiesta Card Kit.  This kit includes 10 card bases, in the mint & silver foil striped design!  Plus you get 10 envelopes & the circle die-cuts & mats – all for just $10.95!

I added shimmer trim & a few silver sequins to complete the card.  I love the new “Congrats” M-size stamp set – and I know I will be using this a LOT as we approach the graduation season.  

Here’s a close up of the 2nd card….

I used the Z32223 Jubilee Card Kit (10 card bases with pink bases & gold foil dots & die cut shapes). 

I also used Gold sequins, and gold shimmer trim AND I pulled in some scraps from the MAY special at Close To My Heart – the Happy Times paper pack.  This paper pack is $14.95 OR get this EXCLUSIVE 14 sheets of paper for FREE with every $60 purchase you make in May 2016 at CTMH!! Another NEW favorite mini-stamp set is the “Bitty Birthday” stamp.  It includes the “happy birthday” sentiment you see above, as well as a “Birthday Wishes” sentiment too….all for just $2.95!

Happy Birthday Card - Chalk It Up paper

Each year, our month of October is filled with many things!!  One of those is celebrating our oldest son’s birthday month, just 4 days after my birthday!

I always enjoy creating a special card for each of my children…a new card, something that I’ve never created for someone else.  They look forward to seeing what I create - however they do joke that it’s usually a couple days after their birthday until they can actually keep the card. J

Why is this, you may ask???  I’m often creating the finishing touches on the card right before the gift giving time.  We give them their gift…and I include the card, and then ask them, “Could I please have your card back so I can take pictures of it for my blog?”.   J
Or course, they are fine with this…but it’s just a different aspect than most birthday cards. LOL!!

Here is Isaac’s 17th birthday card for this  year.
This year, I chose to use the Chalk It Up Paper line.  I love the neutral colors that seem to coordinate with anything!!  J

These foam, adhesive backed shapes are so  USEFUL and so FUN to use!!






I used 3 stamp sets in creating this card (the perks of being a consultant! LOL!!)

All THREE of these stamp sets have so many images on that can be used for ALL occasions!!! 

Here We Go - the arrow…

All the Details - the plus background

and Perfect Fit- Birthday…the birthday saying

I used the NEW color Flaxen for the stamping of the arrow & the 2nd generation stamping of the plus signs in the background.

I wasn’t sure this new color would be one that I would use often - but with it’s yellow-brownish tones, I find myself pulling it out quite often!! 


To add some more details with the stamped arrow…I added some of our (CTMH’s)

-Teal Shimmer Trim
-Black stars (from Scaredy Cat embellishments)
-Aqua Dots
- Chalk It Up foam adhesives

Now - off to your OWN creating space …WAHOO!!!

Charming Chevrons Birthday Card

I’m so happy you came to see me and what I created today!  Welcome!!!

We had a birthday in our home, last Friday - so I created this card for our “NEW” 15 year old!!

By using our spray pen & filling it with desert sand re-inker & water - you are able to create a background in a flash!

 

Actually, I have a neutral colored, filled and ready-to-go spray pen on my creating desk at all times! 

***Can you figure out which of the new paper packs the dotted paper is from? J

If you guessed WANDERFUL - you are correct!!! 

While all of the colors in this card I created do not coordinate with this paper pack,

I LOVE the versatility to be able to take a paper from a collection & then pair it up with whatever COLORS you choose!!

The ink colors used for this card…

 our NEW colors of CANARY & FLAXEN, and also Crystal Blue & Outdoor  Denim. 

I haven’t used the Charming Chevron stamp set very much yet - but it appeals to me so much & I was excited how this card turned out!! 

Notice how I stamped 2 of the arrows twice

(outdoor denim & canary arrows)

& cut them out and “popped” them with our wonderful 3D foam tape! 

To go along with the arrow theme…I used our very popular, NEW Chevron border punch. 

Isn’t it neat how you can punch a border (at the top of the card) and let it just as it is….

OR

….punch another strip at the bottom of the card, and layer some of our FABULOUS shimmer trim OR 12x12 glitter papers behind it to give the creation and extra “wow”.

Now, I’m off to get ready for my TEAM CELEBRATION

taking place NEXT Week!!! 

I’m SO PROUD of my girls, and can’t wait to celebrate our accomplishment of being one of 20 teams in the company that achieved the Thriving/Striving 30 Contest!!  Wahoo!!!
