I thought I’d share this card with you…I needed to create a BABY card for a couple in our church who had twins!  J  So exciting!!  Their story is quite a testimony…and their two children (a boy & a girl) are so adorable!

When a CTMH box with NEW spring Items showed up on my doorstep, I was determined to use the Jan Stamp of the Month stamp set along with some new Spring items to create this card! J

Here is what I came up with…

How do I personally plan to use Studio J this month? 

That might be a silly question J…of course we will be creating Studio J pages! LOL!!  BUT I am REALLY excited because I plan to let each of my children create a couple of Studio J pages!! 

Our children’s BIRTHDAY’s are all at the end of the year – August, October and December.  I thought it would be very SPECIAL if I had pages that reflect how THEY felt about their birthday, what was special to them, etc. As part of that… I would like THEM to each pick out their FAVORITE Paper Pack, the PICTURES they would like to use and any EMBELLISHMENTS, etc. they want on their pages. 

STUDIO J is PERFECT for this – there is NO EXTRA CHARGE for any “extra” items when it comes to embellishments, stickers, papers, etc.!!! It’s all included in the cost!!  So, as my children are each creating their pages I don’t have to say “Now, don’t use this…because it will cost more money!”  Instead – the children can CREATE away!!!!

I thought  you might be interested in seeing a PAGE IN PROGRESS by our middle son, who turned 12 this year.  He is begging each day to work on Studio J!  He is working on his 3rd – 2 page layout…hmm, how many pages should I let him create? J 

Here is the 1st set of pages he is working on…

As he is looking over my shoulder (as I’m typing this) he says, “Mom, I’m not done with them.” so, we will make sure to post his completed pages when they arrive next month!! (and yes, I will be prompting him to include more details in his journaling – LOL!)

Scrap Basket (with leftover Cricut snowflake pieces!)

I have mentioned in a past post about a “Scrap Basket” that I stumbled across…I’m excited to share how I came to create this basket! J 

For most of my gatherings these past few months, we created a winter card using one of the snowflakes from the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge by Close To My Heart.  I was blessed to have a multitude of home parties, so that means I cut out a LOT of snowflakes! J 

Here is the card we created (along with a coordinating 2 page layout J)…


and HERE is the scrap paper that was leftover after cutting the snowflakes…

It bothered me to throw this paper away – even though most of the paper was cut and not useable.  I know some of you are able to toss a sheet of paper away when it looks like this…not me.  I cut off the ends of the 2 sides and then looked at the negative space of the snowflakes wondering what I could do with them.  After a day of that “scrap” sheet sitting on my table…I would then throw it in the trash can since there was really nothing you could do with those inside pieces, right? 

Well, that continued UNTIL…(drum roll please J )

ONE DAY – I was folding the paper and an idea came to me. 

Why not cut out that extra inside of the snowflakes?  Could I turn it into “something”?

I cut out the “insides” of the snowflakes…
















and then got some glue dots to glue the corners together!!!!  




Hmm, that kind of looks like a basket!!! J 




Let’s see, how about if we  stamp something on the outside of the basket…



and make a handle…






This is really FUN!!!

What a FUN basket to add little treats too!!! 

Here are three different ways to create these baskets…

I used this basket as a small gift to a first time workshop attendee!  I wanted to give her something because the rest of the attendees were part of my monthly club and I was giving them a small Christmas gift. 






I hope this has inspired you and encouraged you to take a look at your leftover pieces! LOL!!! You never know what those SCRAPS may turn into!!! J
